Esperanzas Sanctuary (formerly All Big Canines)

Tabitha was recommended by our vet to help with our cattle dog Willy, who does not like to be touched by strangers, especially the vet, and doesn’t trust people in general. We had six in-person sessions with Tabitha and quite a bit of homework. We learned the basics of changing Willy’s behavior; that will help us continue working with her to make her less reactive to people. It’s not a miracle fix like you see on TV, but Willy is more relaxed around visitors already and we look forward to trauma-free vet visits in the future.

Thank you City of Desert Hot Springs and Esperanza's Sanctuary! Chica Maria just graduated from dog training, and I am so grateful to Tabitha at Esperanza's Sanctuary! From the very beginning, Tabitha was patient, knowledgeable, and truly tuned in to my dog’s personality. She uses kind, positive training methods that build trust and confidence, and the difference in Chica Maria has been wonderful to see. Tabitha doesn’t just train dogs — she teaches owners how to understand and communicate with them. This farm sanctuary is an absolute wonder for the animals that are taken care of here. And not only do they teach people in our community about care of animals, they also take care of people in our community. They are our community's headquarters for composting and they do food distribution with donations they get. The people who run this sanctuary are the kindest people you'll ever meet. Always looking out for their neighbors. Always willing to lend a hand. Just the best of the best.

Tabitha is an angel who saved my dog's life, literally! We had just moved to Europe (temporarily) that my dog's reactivity got worse. I was miserable, and couldn't find a trainer. Until someone introduced Tabitha to me and we decided to start working virtually. Within that first session she realized my dog must have been in pain, even though the vets kept clearing her. And she was. Upon more investigations we found spinal issues, knee issues, GI issues. Tabitha was so much beyond amazing in teaching me about dog behavior, teaching me how to handle my little girl, teaching me step by step how to do behavioral modifications despite the pain she was going through that I decided to take full advantage of her expertise I should fly the dog to California, leave her with Tabitha, for a board and train program. AND THAT WAS THE BEST DECISION I EVE MADE. We had an amazing meet and greet at the beginning, and three days of training for me when I went to pick up the dog, so I could learn everything she had learned about my dog. The dog came back home much calmer, and thanks to her I could figure out my own mistakes in handling the dog. I seriously can't recommend her enough. I keep making excuses to continue working with her, not anymore for reactivity training, but for anything dog training related. She is beyond amazing! All she cares about is helping the animal, and she doesn't stop until getting to the bottom of it.
