Every Dog Behavior and Training (South)

My 8 year old dog, Wilbur, and I recently completed Rowdy Manners 1 & 2 with Every Dog and had a great experience! I wanted support working on his focus around new people and dogs (and squirrels and chickens...) and also wanted to do something that would be fun and enriching for us both. These classes were a great fit! Our instructors, Eric and Lindsey, were kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They were very aware of the different needs of dogs in the class and adjusted the distance between students or the barriers so each dog was able to engage in the class activities. Wilbur is very food motivated and learned quickly that class = treats, which meant he usually did really well. During one exercise that Wilbur was rocking even with barriers removed, Eric set a bin of treats nearby and opened the lid. This created the appropriate amount of challenge for Wilbur so we could practice the game we were learning. I saw a big improvement in Wilbur's focus since we started class and practiced strategies at home. I've told several friends and neighbors about Every Dog's manners and specialty classes. Plus, I love that they are a nonprofit and are working to make positive reinforcement dog training accessible to all!

Every Dog's South Austin Location is fantastic. I've done several group classes and they have been wonderful. All of the trainers are great and are genuinely passionate about equipping owners with the knowledge and skills to train their dog! If you have a chance to take a class taught by Eric, you really need to sign up for it. He is an unbelievable trainer and, maybe more importantly, communicates extremely well the science behind the techniques and the nuances/body language of the dog. The group classes are capped on how many they let sign up, but the space is large so there is plenty of space between the dogs. EveryDog is set up as a non-profit organization and has a small retail shop in front. They have the lowest price I've seen on the Real Meat Co brand dog treat, which my dog loves. Go do a class there, you won't be disappointed. Lastly, I really want to stress that I am so glad that I did the puppy class there. Doing that class (my pup was 8-weeks old!) really set a great foundation for him.
