Hi Ksenia (although we have you in our system as Oksana, so hopefully this is the same person), I have to lay out the facts since you felt compelled to right this review and any negative feedback we take super seriously, but when done in a public forum, the viewing public has to also know fact from fiction, because we deeply care about every single dog and person that we deal with. Leo was last in for a single night back in October 2022. We haven't heard from you since then. We require a negative fecal test yearly for dogs that have been with us before, and bordetella to be updated every 6 months. This is for the safety of all the dogs we have, as their well-being is above all else. I don't see a record of a call, voicemail, message, email from you other than the voicemail you left after-hours last night. No one would tell that without the result of the fecal test, you would be ok to bring Leo, as we need the result. Furthermore, we require reservations for all dogs. Leo did not have a reservation. You just showed up, expecting us to take him. When a dog hasn't been with us for over 6 months, we really want to set the dog up for success, so we usually like to see them before they would be staying overnight (so, coming in for a half-day daycare, for instance). Regardless of that fact, without a reservation, we can't accept a drop-in. That wouldn't be fair to every other client who makes reservations (some, well in advance), plus we keep our numbers low specifically so we have the lowest ratio of dog-to-staff of any daycare. The other thing is Leo is still listed as unneutered and if that is true, we need dogs to be neutered by 9 months of age. So, we were missing a reservation, we were missing critical medical clearance and we were missing if you're dog was altered or not. You have every right to write this review but when you were unfortunately unprepared to properly make a reservation, you proceeded to yell at our staff about it. That's not acceptable to me, as to the contrary of what you wrote, we have the most caring, dedicated, loving, and professional staff each and every day. I, personally, would never employ someone who would be callous, rude and unprofessional to anyone - even if they were being that to them. With the few negative reviews we have, it saddens me because there isn't a person on the planet who cares more about every person and every dog. All I can continue to do is state the facts and hope each person reading this understands how much we do care. In the court of public opinion, it's tough to not sound defensive in responding to something like this but my sincere hope is that everyone who looks at every review we have (even the responses to the few negative ones we have), can see how much I genuinely care about each and every dog and their respective families. I can't screenshot our interactions, but we answered every concern - every text, every message, every call swiftly and with deference. At close to 8 pm before I was putting my kids to bed, this is what I wrote to you: "I 100% understand what she means to you and that's why your message is so important to all of us and especially me. Please call my direct cell: 310-663-7563 and I'd be happy to further answer any question or concerns you have." You never called me. I'm not sure how much more empathetic I could be to you, knowing full-well this was her first time ever at a daycare and your understandable concern. The reason we advise that dogs don't come back is for the benefit of the dog. As I respectfully explained to you, Ziva did over-correct multiple dogs, and she was intrusive with sniffing to the point that other dogs felt the need to correct her. Because of this, we did need to rotate her in and out on occasion, but on any given day, she was out in playgroups for 9-10 hours total. But really most importantly, she clearly would love to hang out with just humans - not dogs - and that is where she would be most happy, which is the only thing I, or our staff, cares about. That was our determination and advice to you. You took it as a personal attack or something and I'm sorry you interpreted it that way, but we will only espouse for what we believe is best for each individual dog, even if that means turning away revenue. What hurt me the most about this review was your insane assertion that her being a Rottie had something to do with what I told you. That is as bad as calling me a racist. Not only are we the most inclusive workplace, but we have no breed restrictions and we never will. We have other Rotties that come (including a very endearing review on this very page about one who has come to EveryDog since we've been open), and well as other bully breeds. The other thing is we have never had a group of 20 dogs - ever. While are playgroups are getting a bit bigger since we first started, we still have a staff member to - at most - 9-11 dogs. And yes, most daycares have on average 75-100 dogs per day (I never said 100s). We have a fraction of that. Lastly, you can say nasty things about me personally or take things out on me, but your tone with our staff was unacceptable. The jumping to conclusions and raised voice that you had when you called multiple times was not warranted and not OK. Our staff are the loveliest, most caring, patient and professional staff you will find and they will never deserve to be talked to like you talked to them. As with the few negative reviews we've had, I try to respectfully state the facts, but more importantly, if anyone has questions or concerns about this particular review, I am more than willing to discuss anytime through email ([email protected]) or a call to my direct cell (310-663-7563).
