Everydog Training Center

I’ve taken 3 different classes with my puppy here. Scent work levels 1 and 2 with Diane, and advanced manners with Amy. I want to start off by saying that Diane is amazing! My puppy has loved every single scent class so far, and we do plan on taking more once summer is over. Diane makes the classes fun and she ensures that every dog is successful and is having a good time. However, the “advanced” manners class that we took was kind of a waste.. The class description says that it’s basically a Canine Good Citizen prep class. There were only 2 other students besides myself (after 3 classes one of them stopped showing up, so it ended up just being two of us total..) and both of the other dogs were at lower skill levels than my girl. Which isn’t a bad thing at all! I’ve put a lot of work into my pup so far, and I was mainly hoping to practice the CGC items in a different setting so I could see if she was ready to test or not. The class was very poorly put together. I don’t even think Amy had a class curriculum to go off of. Every week she was just winging it, and she wasn’t even 100% familiar with the CGC items. As it turns out, she’s not even an evaluator, so it’s weird that she’s running a CGC prep class in the first place. We pretty much walked in lines back and forth between cones for 3 classes, then worked some stay, did a little bit of handling and supervised separation, and that was basically it. The other 2 dogs in the class probably benefited from the class more than us since they struggled more with leash walking, stay, and getting overly distracted by other dogs.. but for us, it was a waste of $240. We “graduated” from the class knowing the same exact things we knew when we went in for week 1. I put graduated in quotes because Amy didn’t even give our dogs certificates lol. Diane has been amazing and we will continue doing scent work classes with her, but I definitely wouldn’t take an obedience class again, unless it is run by Diane as well.

I’ve had really great experiences with Everydog training center. Their trainers are responsive and super helpful. We’ve done Agility, Scent Training, and Manners training with them. Different trainers for each class and all very positive experiences. It’s also a very large space so it’s easy to maintain distance to other dogs if that is important to you. I’ve tried Petco and Petsmart classes but Everydog classes are by far the best.
