Evolution Canine

Scott is an incredible teacher - for our puppy as well as myself and my fiancé. We both had a lot to learn and Scott made sure to answer any questions we had and explain in detail as to the "why." I was nervous leaving my pup but Scott took incredible care of him and I left each training knowing he was in great hands. We are a couple weeks post training and I can tell you it was worth every penny. They truly give a 5 star service and are available for any follow ups. We are so grateful for EvoCanine!

Our training at Evolution Canine transformed our dogs and our family for the better! We have two dogs, each with their own issues to work out. Willow is a stubborn (but smart) Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix and her little "brother" Santo is a hound-like mutt with some serious anxiety. Before training with Evolution Canine both had pretty intense reactivity to dogs and other animals, both on walks and at the window. Both pulled pretty heavily on the leash, too. And were, in general, just needy and pushy pups. I was unable to walk them around the neighborhood together due to the pulling and reactivity...it was just too much. Even when I walked them solo, it was becoming difficult and annoying to the point that I dreaded our daily walks. I couldn't take them on the hikes and camping trips because they couldn't hold it together around other dogs. Sadly, their world was getting smaller as I wasn't able to take them to do all the fun outdoor stuff I envisioned doing with them. Enter Scott and his team at Evolution Canine. They were able to nip all of those problem behaviors in the bud quickly. Through the Board & Train program they established a solid foundation of skills and expectations for both dogs. And throughout it all they showed us how to be the strong, effective leaders our dogs needed. Only a few weeks later and both Willow and Santo have transformed into such lovely, well-behaved dogs. I can finally walk them on a loose leash (this has been my DREAM!)...something I was unable to accomplish for over 3 years on my own/with other trainers). Willow happily trots at my side, never pulling ahead...and every so often she looks up at me with a smile to check in. Even when we pass other dogs. Santo is also doing great on his walks and is a more confident dog who wants to listen. Both are really enjoying our continued training at home...and so are the humans! Scott involved both of my kids in the process and was incredibly patient with all of us. Our dogs are thriving within this new structure. And I'm excited to actually be able to enjoy the world with them (rather than hide them away). If you're concerned about the cost (which I was, too), I will say that it was well worth every penny. The way I justified it was not to think of it as the cost for 3 weeks of training...its sets the foundation for a lifetime of living happily with your dog. So I divided the total cost by the lifespan of your average dog. If you plan to spend the next 10 years, say, with your dog, the annual cost breakdown is very reasonable.

Did some research and got a great recommendation from a close friend about hiring Scott and his team. I started out with a good tempered puppy who was 7 months old and pushing 60 pounds. He was happy to meet everyone but jumping on people, lunging on walks, play biting with me and just had general anxiety and over excitement. Evolution laid the foundation for my puppy to learn and understand what is ok and what isn't and gave us a platform to build off. During my first follow up 6 days in, I immediately noticed how happy my puppy was while working with Scott and his team. You will interact in the training with your dog and be shown how to handle situations and continue to build what they started. Couldn't be happier and Nico is already getting endless comments about how well he walks with me and how calm he is around others. Thanks Scott!

After years of (unsuccessfully) trying to figure it out on my own, I made the decision to seek the help of Evolution Canine after a recommendation from a friend. My dog struggled with severe separation anxiety and progressively worsening leash reactivity. Scott and his team did an incredible job bringing us back to the basics and provided us a solid foundation on which to rebuild our relationship. It’s clear that client satisfaction is important, and Scott was incredibly helpful in answering questions and providing feedback even after my dog came home. My dog is happier and more relaxed, and I feel like I have my life back again. It was well worth the investment and I would highly recommend their service to others.
