If you are looking for a highly skilled dog trainer, Carlos is the best! We had a consult over the phone and right from the start, I knew that he was extremely knowledgable in animal behavior and was exactly who I needed to help me train my Shiba Inu. At the time, Beau was 1, stubborn, and when anxious he would get aggressive and bite people and assert dominance. I was constantly worried about having guest over or leaving him home without me there. This became a huge problem. Carlos was patient, and super understanding of my situation and came up with a plan that worked best for the both of us since I was driving about an hour to meet him weekly. After months of training, Beau has learned place, recall and healthy ways to work out his anxiety including tug and lots of exercise and stimulation. He also taught me how to read and understand Beau's behavior and cues. I am eternally grateful for him, his skills and knowledge!! Carlos is an amazing trainer! He is extremely knowledgeable about dog training and helps you to better understand your dog. When looking for a dog trainer, I had specific goals in mind: solid heel on leash for walking/ running and improving off leash recall. During our initial phone call, Carlos understood exactly what I was looking for. I initially called about my 2 year old German shorthair pointer with tons of energy. Within a few weeks, he was understanding heel better on leash and I decided to begin working with my 7 year old GSP as well, that I thought could never learn to walk on a leash. Training with Carlos has been an absolute pleasure. His instruction is easy to follow and learn from. I’ve learned better leash handling and communication with my dogs. I never thought I’d be able to walk them both on a leash so nicely!

Carlos is fantastic. I've been working with him for 5 months now because I have a VERY challenging dog. She had bitten family members, been aggressive with other dogs, and would lunge at things in the street like cars and bikes. I had two prior trainers and they did not work because my dog needs a custom plan. Carlos took on the challenge and we've seen huge improvements. He takes the time to explain what he's doing and why he does it. We've been working on heel to control her when she's outside. We've done place to handle her inside the house. We're now doing leave it to help her further. He also gave us toy ideas to tire her out to control her aggression. When I rescued Ollie I was lost. He was responding to treat training but not retaining, I would repeat the command over and over with no reliable results. I contacted Carlos and have been blown away with results!! I was terrified to use an e collar but when used responsibly and with educated training taught by Carlos, ollie follows all commands. I can have him off leash responsibly, he walks on a leash without pulling, sits on command, goes to “place” when strangers knock on the door and stays there until released!! Carlos is very dedicated to his work, every session he would quote a new e collar training theory or use examples from other renowned trainers and, best of all, he relates it to you in a way you’ll understand. I'm so happy my doberman Isla and I found Exclusive Dog Training. Isla has been in need of some extra training as she is often hard for me to handle outside and on a leash. I knew she and I would need more advanced training and help from an experienced trainer- that is exactly what we have found in EDT.
