We were referred to Rick because of issues with our reactive dog. We have worked with him weekly for 6 months and have learned considerable skills on how to handle our husky mix rescue. Rick is incredibly knowledgeable on how to train and handle dogs and really good at working with us. He is patient and generous with his time. We met him at several public locations, such as Home Depot where we could work with our dog in outdoor and indoor more crowded situations. We definitely feel much better prepared to continue training and managing our dog to reduce his anxiety. I think it's an important point that he trained us and not just our dog.

Birdie is a rescue from Aruba. Very sensitive and a bit shy. I was looking for positive reinforcement. After interviewing other trainers who offered free evaluation, I chose Rick who charged. Others that I interviewed were free, however, they never touched my dog and just gave me a sales pitch I could have done that over the phone. Rick is a professional and should charge for his time. During the evaluation, Rick actually took my dog and worked with him while I watched The eval was three hours long. I was exhausted. Rick was very clear, involved me, asked many questions, used praise and positive reinforcement. He has many years of experience, countless certifications. My husband comes with me. Its not just the dog he trains but takes just as much time with the owners which is most important. He has many different tools for any issue. I would highly recommend Rick.

Rick is FABULOUS! We brought our Boston Terrier, Finnegan, at 11 weeks old for an initial consultation on trading. Rick suggested we return when Finn was a bit older. We have just completed 4 private sessions. as Finn turned 7 months.Boston Terriers are know to be independent and stubborn. Well, Finn took that to new levels!! He is one STUBBORN puppy. We recognize that we contributed to this as gave him too much freedom at home. Durning the 4 sessions we found Rick to be extremely patient, persistent and thoughtful in his feedback to both Finn and his Moms. We were expecting Rick to be able to read and communicate with our dog. We were very impressed with his ability to “get us” and provide critical feedback in an honest style while being respectful and thoughtful. Rick believes that all sessions should end in a positive manner. He was amazingly creative to make that happen with Stubborn Finn. Our last session, Rick helped us get over the “stubborn hump”!!
