I was fortunate to get an hour and a half of "boot camp" training with my 9 month old foster pup the very day I picked her up from the rescue organization I volunteer for. Having hardly any training or socialization, she was a 50 lb handful, lacking respect and manners on and off leash. Being a Staffordshire Terrier gave her the edge on brains, sweetness and wanting to please her "human" but unfortunately the stigma of the "pitbull" label. In just the hour and a half that Rick and I spent with her she made monumental progress. I left there with a dog that was now on the right path to success.
I was very impressed with Rick's calm and gentle but assertive manner while working with her. Both his indoor and outdoor training area was impressive and his own well trained dogs a testament to his skill and understanding of canines. I would not hesitate recommending Rick's services to anyone looking for help for their dog (and themselves) !

The end result has been a dog that is such a joy to have out in the world. Our off-leash walks are a delight — I have confidence in Minnow's recall and responsiveness no matter what we encounter in the world.
When on leash, Minnow heels calmly next the baby stroller on our long walks and chills out parked in front of the post office. We're doing agility for fun and she's just the coolest dog...and while her personality certainly led her to being that cool dog, Rick took the building blocks and helped us make her the family dog we needed. We're grateful.

Rick gave me the tools to learn how to work with my reactive rescue pup. We are now able to navigate walking past other dogs on walks and now we are working on being able to be near/walk past cats. I’m very grateful and so is Taffy :)
