Family Companions Dog Training

My boyfriend and I committed to getting a corgi puppy as first-time dog owners and started looking for a skilled trainer in the area. Brooke was absolutely amazing and incredibly friendly from the start. She was clear with her instructions and provided us with practical tools, along with detailed explanations of our dog’s behavior and psychology. We saw results after every training session with her! She is passionate about what she does, and it truly shows. We can’t thank her enough for all of her hard work. She created unique classes for each session, incorporating agility work and confidence-building exercises. Our pup is growing into a confident and obedient dog thanks to her.

Thought I knew something about dog training until we got a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. Our previous shepherd mix had been a therapy dog and so I thought I would just be able to train this one the same way.....not so much. Our breeder recommended Brooke and ....wow, total game changer. Brooke teaches you how to be supportive yet firm and how to hold your dog accountable. We started with 5 classes but I wanted to learn more and so we did 5 more classes. Long story short, we have a well behaved 2 yo Ridgeback who just passed her therapy dog test last week. We feel we can take our 95lb dog just about anywhere, mall, restaurant, brewpub and have few to no concerns about her behavior.

I met Brooke when I was walking my reactive dog in downtown Sherwood. She stopped to talk, giving me insight as to why my dog was reactive and how she could help with this behavior. Working with her, I learned my dog was reacting out of fear and anxiety, not aggression. She needed to feel confident in my leadership which became the focus of our training. Brooke implemented new tools that I wouldn't have considered without her guidance and together we have made great improvements in my dog's confidence. My dog even lay down with other dogs in her comfort bubble. Brooke is confident in her skills and will push you as the trainer to be a better leader for your dog.
