About Family Dog Obedience
Our trainer, Val Klein, has been endorsed from the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors and is an evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test. Dog obedience classes are held at: 1698 North Main Street Ext, Butler, PA 16001. The 8,000 sq. ft. facility features dog-activity-friendly flooring and a wide selection of state-of-the-art dog training equipment. Our growth and success are based on referrals from past/present students, friends and family members of those students, and many local veterinarians’ offices, all of which we are extremely grateful for! Attending classes, and learning about dogs and dog behavior make our students “part of the family.”

From the very beginning Family Dog Obedience has exceeded my expectations. Val and Misty are very knowledgeable and helpful! I have a 1 year old Belgian Malinois who is very dog reactive. We were recommended to FDO from another training facility due to Val's previous experience with the breed. She has gone above and beyond to teach me how to read my dogs body language, the right tools (collars and leashes) to use for him, and how to deescalate the situation when my dog is reacting. She has been very welcoming and accommodating. She has helped me gain so much more confidence as a Belgian Malinois owner, and a dog owner in general. We have completed Puppy Class once and Grad Puppy twice and will be back for more!
