Can a Malamute or Siberian husky be trained as a service or therapy dog?
Great question Beverly. It's not unheard of to see the breed in service of therapy dog work. As with any breed, it depends on temperament and aptitude for the work we are requiring of the dog.

How much is the service dog/therapy dog training class?
Hello Tansi, There are actually three different programs of this nature in our class line up. The Service Dog Skills and Professional Therapy Dog Skills classes are $100 for four weeks of training. The therapy dog training/certification is a two day course for $50. You can find all information regarding enrollment on our website www.welltrainedfamilydog.com, click on Training Classes and scroll down to the classes that interest you. They are truly people who are invested in your dog and your dog’s training. We have had our puppy in Puppy Day School and Puppy I classes, and have been totally blown away by the level of effort and care that Ashley and Megan and others take to work with our puppy and to make sure that we are working with our puppy appropriately. We are learning with her! Having a young dog is a delight but also can be exhausting and frustrating— enrolling ours at Family Dog Training & Behavioral Center was 100% the best thing we could do for our dog and for us.
These folks love what they do, and it shows. Their training programs are very affordable, too. If you need a service dog trained, I'd highly recommend them. The staff is great, and they are highly competent.
