I can’t say enough about how great Steven and his family and team are! We sent our Great Pyrenees pup to him for a 1 week puppy program and then a 3 week board and train after she was 6 mos old. He did such a fantastic job with her- she is a now model canine citizen. I can’t believe the transformation in just 3 weeks. He was great at explaining everything to me and showing me how to take the reins with her training moving forward. I have full confidence now that I have a dog I can trust to be safe in public, out on walks, meeting new people and new dogs and a solid start to our dog-human relationship. We went out on a family hike in a local state park and she was a perfect angel. I can tell how much Steven and his team truly care for the dogs. He puts his heart into this work and it shows. Such a worthwhile investment to have given our sweet doggo a solid foundation.

I couldn’t have asked for better training for my brother’s dog. We needed training for his pit lab mix asap. My brother had an accident and become paralyzed from the waist down. Blue had problems with marking in the house, barking a lot and constantly jumping all over us. In 4 weeks Steven turned Blue into the most well behaved dog we’ve ever had. He also trained him from a wheelchair. My brother got home yesterday and Blue is becoming a great companion for him, he’s SO well behaved! We can’t thank Steven enough for all his hard work.

Phenomenal trainer and facilities. My doodle is now off leash and living his best life! Steven took us from a crazy runaway to a happy boy with super recall. This doodle loves to board at Family Dog Training Services and will promptly jump in Steven’s lap when he comes to visit/train at my house. This is the second dog that Steven has trained for our family and we will continue to enjoy all the wonderful services that Family Dog Training Services offers.

Steven was amazing! He trained both my full size, 2 year old, Labradoodle and goldendoodle that we rescued. Both of our doodles came with bad habits and one of them had lots of anxiety from previous homes. My one dog used to anxious pace in the house none stop, had anxious accidents in the house, not listen to his name, counter surf, run after cars, and had to be on trazadone daily for his anxiety. After Steven worked with him, he was able to channel his anxious, active tendencies into his training and completely transform him and my other dog as well. Steven created a great foundation for us to continue working with both dogs once home. We are now 4 months out from our training and they are still able to follow commands, listen on and off leash, including in public distraction settings and my one dogs anxiety is almost completely gone. He is worth every penny.

If I could give hundreds of stars, I would do so. Growing up our family had German Shepherds & so I decided to get a German Shepherd puppy. Between hiring a local trainer & attending puppy training classes I realized I needed more guidance. A friend, whose dog was trained by Steven, referred me to Family Dog Training Services, LLC & I am forever grateful! Steven assesses & customizes training to the individual dog. He takes into consideration the personality & needs of each pup. For Chester, Steven figured out that a lot of the behaviors exhibited were due sensitivity to pressure around his neck. Once this was understood, modifications to his training were made & within a few days everything fell into place. Training with Steven helped to strengthen my bond with Chester & I have become a more confident dog owner. It’s been 2+ years since Chester’s initial training & I continue to rely on Family Dog Training Services for advice & for boarding. Chester loves to vacation there! He gets safe supervised play with dogs that are well matched to his temperament. When you think of those very few things in life that you can truly count on…Steven is one of those for me. Most recently, due to an injury, I needed to urgently board Chester. They (FDTS) boarded him without hesitation, treated him as one of the family, & went over & above. I am beyond grateful for all that Steven and his family have done for Chester & me.
