Fetch the Leash! Dog Behavior & Training

Our vet recommended fetch the leash when we were introducing a new puppy into our family. Our five-year-old pandemic pup, Jazzy, also struggled with lack of socialization and lots of fear. Our puppy just graduated the puppy class and is doing amazing. Jazzy has started private day training and in two lessons and practice at home he’s gone from a nervous nelly to enjoying walks, his crate, training time and treats! What I love about the courses is that you have daily exercises you can do with your dog throughout the day in little spurts. The way that Fetch the Leash taught us to train fit seamlessly into our lifestyle and beliefs. I know will continue our work with the amazingly sweet and fun staff of fetch the leash, looking at intermediate puppy, fetch and continuing Jazzy’s confidence building! Burlington is so fortunate that Maria opened Fetch the Leash in our community. Maria and her team are the most thoughtful, professional, and considerate group of people and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to work with them when we brought a new dog into our family. We adopted Bayley (1 year old dog) from a local rescue that was not completely forthcoming about some issues she was experiencing. She was not sufficiently socialized as a puppy and had severe leash reactivity. We were new dog owners and had no idea what we were doing. We met with FIVE different trainers before a neighbor stopped my on the street and encouraged us to connect with Maria. I had looked at the Fetch the Leash website but didn't want to pay for the online consultation required to proceed with private training - I wish I hadn't hesitated, as the online consultation was useful and would have saved me time and heartache if I had just met with Maria first! We used FTL for private training, day training, and their Reactive Rover class and are so happy with all the progress our dog has made. The private training and day training were expensive for our family's budget, but SO worth the investment. We are especially grateful for all the encouragement and kindness from the Fetch the Leash team. We were a little ashamed and embarrassed at how unprepared we were to bring a rescue dog into our lives, but Maria was never judgmental or critical, only supportive and compassionate. We were having a hard time and she was so patient with us!!! We are so happy that Bayley is part of our family and it's 100% a result of all the support from Maria and her wonderful colleagues.

Our experience with Maria & her team has been truly life changing. Maria is very compassionate and made us feel very heard. She’s extremely educated and has helped us see our dog for who he is and how he feels. This helped us reach milestones with our dog we did not know were possible. Before meeting Maria I had lost hope in dog trainers because of my past experiences but I am so grateful that I found her because she is different than any trainer I’ve ever met!
