Find Your Zen Dog Training

I have been going to FYZ Level Up! Classes for almost 3 years now. There isn’t anyone that I trust more with the care of my fur-babies than Leah. Leah doesn’t just train dogs, she trains their humans on how to communicate with their dogs. The passion she has for her career is obvious. Not only for her own personal dogs but for every dog that comes into her business. I feel blessed to have found her and have gained immeasurable skills and confidence from her training. My husband and I are working on training our new puppy in her class and he is learning so fast. I’ve used multiple services that FYZ offers: obedience classes, FYZ Academy and boarding. I trust no one else! Now to talk about FYZ Academy: Dani and Taylor are also phenomenal. Simba gets so excited to see them and they share in their excitement to see him. They are knowledgeable and so patient with him. Leah, Dani & Taylor are helping me work through his defiant puppy phase. 😅 They provide your dog with love, attention and structure. There isn’t a service from FYZ that I don’t recommend. You and your dog will be grateful to have Leah and her training in your life! I absolutely adore all these girls and am so grateful for all of them!

Being new to Anchorage, finding a balanced training is challenging and one that aligned with our previous methods/style. Although it is about an hour drive, my private lessons, day board/train has been so helpful as Leah and her team has helped continued to guide Bowie and I w/ our journey. I recently started group classes with Leah as it is now offered in Anchorage weekly. I am thankful for Leah and her team, for instilling structure for my teenage dog and continuing to raise the bar for Bowie and us. If you enroll in classes, you also get access to videos she made for reference in activities done in class via FB. I can always rely on Leah with assisting us with any questions anytime!

I’ve been training with Find Your Zen Dog Training for over 8 years with a variety of dogs. They are people I truly trust with my dogs and value as part of our journey. Their training is incredibly effective, but what stands out most is how deeply they care about each dog AND their handler. Their methods are thoughtful, fair, and consistent, and the results really speak for themselves. I’ve seen real, lasting progress with my dogs—not quick fixes, but meaningful change that builds confidence, clarity, and a strong bond. They take the time to understand why a dog is behaving a certain way and tailor their approach to support the dog, aide the handler, and reach results in the best possible way. The level of care during boarding and daycare that they provide is exceptional. My dogs are treated with kindness, patience, and respect at all times, and I never have to worry about their well-being. Megan, Dani, and Taylor are all amazing and I never hesitate to leave my babies with them. You can genuinely feel how much they love the dogs they work with, and that trust means everything to me. On top of that, the variety of classes allows you to grow and continue learning no matter where you’re starting from. It’s a supportive, welcoming environment that makes both dogs and handlers feel successful. Leah is so knowledgeable, kind, and skilled in helping reach your goals. If you’re looking for training, daycare, boarding, or classes that are not only highly effective, but also deeply compassionate, I can’t recommend Find Your Zen Dog Training enough

I cannot recommend Find Your Zen Dog Training based on our recent experience. We enrolled our 7-month-old puppy in their board and train program, where dogs train during the day and then stay overnight at the trainer’s home. From the beginning, communication was a major concern. They only communicated via text and never answered phone calls, and it often took several days to get any update on how our puppy was doing. Our puppy was struggling with kennel training, and the trainer, Leah, suggested using a bark collar because she said nothing else was working. I immediately texted her to say I did not want a bark collar used and asked her to call me to discuss other options. She never responded. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the lack of communication, I decided to pick up our puppy. I texted Leah to let her know we were on the way, but when we arrived at the facility, neither she nor our puppy was there. Staff gave us conflicting information about how to reach her. Ultimately, we felt we had no choice but to go to her home. When we arrived, her husband came to the door visibly agitated. He reluctantly brought our puppy out and then aggressively took him by the collar and threw him out the door toward us. It was shocking and deeply upsetting to witness. I strongly recommend that anyone considering a home-based board and train program insist on seeing the home environment beforehand and understanding exactly who will be around their dog. I wish I had done this, and I hope sharing our experience helps prevent something like this from happening to someone else.
