First Choice Canine

We highly, highly recommend First Choice Canine for dog training. For years, we dealt with a reactive dog that showed intense aggression towards other dogs. Taking her places and walking her was a nightmare. Our sweet dog would turn into a barking and lunging mess. She was impossible to control, and encounters with other dogs (even in passing) were something we did everything possible to avoid. We spent ample time working with different trainers, with no real improvement. We were wary of sending her to a board and train program. A quick search will yield cautionary tales and horror stories. However, KB and First Choice Canine were different. The tone was set from our initial consultation. KB was professional, attentive, and insightful. He gauged our expectations and outlined a training plan to help our dog. We ended up boarding our dog with First Choice for four weeks. Throughout the process, they kept us updated with photos and videos, along with lengthy descriptions of our dog's progress. The proof is in the results. Our dog is now well behaved, easy to control on and off leash, and does not react to other dogs whatsoever. The difference is like night and day. After years of struggling with her behavior, we feel like she has a new lease on life. We can take her anywhere. She retained all the positive aspects of her personality. KB's team taught her self confidence and a solid foundation of training to help her out in the real world. Best of all, KB gave us, her owners, the tools we need to continue to work with her and help her build her skills. The net result is that our dog now has an immensely improved quality of life. My husband and I just finished our On & Off Leash Private lessons with First Choice Canine and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Our dog is a Mini Australian Shepherd with extremely high energy. Before we took her to training, it was stressful to take her anywhere as she really struggled with walking well on the leash. In addition, she also developed several other bad behaviors (barking, jumping, fear of high energy dogs) that we couldn’t seem to improve on our own. She is a completely different dog since she’s had her training. From day 1 we’ve noticed major improvements with her and now we love taking her everywhere with us! Not only did the classes teach her, myself and my husband valuable lessons, but they were fun! We looked forward to each class. Our 1.5 year old South African Mastiff, Hulk, was starting to show some aggression signs towards strangers. We took him to first choice and did one on one sessions with Chris. The experience was great and the results were more than what we were expecting. Chris was an excellent trainer and super fun. Today we were able to bring Hulk to a bar for the first time in over a year! Thank you First Choice!

Absolutely thrilled to see how much progress my 7 month old Australian Shepherd has made! He is one of the most hyperactive breeds, and still a puppy, but now his energy is channeled in the right way. The team at First Choice is absolutely top notch, they’re truly lovers of all dogs. I had been to a few trainers and even a doctor who “specialized in behavior “ she recommended my aggressive German Shepherd be put down because he was to aggressive. My last resort was sending him to a board and train. First choice canine had all the good reviews and I also got in touch with customers to get insight on their experience. I sent my gsd away for 6 weeks and I couldn’t believe the weekly updates I was getting he was doing so good. Since I have picked him up he is a way better dog. Well behaved ,doesn’t bark we can go on walks. He could never go on walks before he was basically a back yard dog. We are able to take him out now and I can see how happy he is. We choose to continue to train with first choice canine because they are professionals. kB and his team are so patient with me and my husband as they train us to be better handlers. The place is so impeccable. I am so happy to be able to offer my dog a better life that he deserves. I highly recommend this place. I will be forever thankful.
