First Class Canine Training

We had an incredible experience with First Class Canine Training, and I truly can’t say enough good things about Dave. We brought him our 60-pound, high-energy puppy who definitely needed structure, guidance, and a lot of patience. The transformation has been amazing. After staying with Dave for a few weeks, our dog came back like a completely different dog (same cute cuddly self still). He’s more focused, better behaved, and clearly understands expectations in a way he just didn’t before. It’s been such a relief and honestly life-changing for our household. What really stands out is how much our dog both respects and loves Dave. That says everything. You can tell Dave knows exactly what he’s doing and genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. The way I came in contact with Dave is interesting. There's a gentleman in my neighborhood that walks 3 Labrador Retrievers and I took note of how well behaved and trained they are. My dogs are high energy rescues that didn't walk well on the leash and generally didn't listen. I stopped the fellow and asked him about their training and he gave all of the credit to Dave. I got the contact number and reached out. My dogs were with Dave for two weeks and they came home knowing basic obedience commands, which was the goal. When we picked up our dogs, Dave gave us instruction on how to reinforce the training. He took his time to make sure we understood what needed to be done. Dave is very good at what he does and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to dog behavior. We see a marked improvement in our dogs behavior and most importantly when they behave in a way that we are not happy with, we have the tools to correct it. I highly recommend Dave. He is the "real deal" when it comes to dog training.

We spent a lot of time researching trainers for our 10-month-old Vizsla, who has extremely high energy and needed to master basic obedience. After speaking with several trainers, we decided on Dave, and it was the best decision we could have made. From the very first phone consultation, Dave’s professionalism and knowledge stood out. Our dog stayed with Dave for a two-week board and train program and came back a completely transformed version of himself. He is still the same sweet, energetic puppy, but now he understands boundaries, etiquette, and discipline. The biggest improvement has been on walks. He heels beautifully and is so much calmer and more focused. At pickup, Dave spent plenty of time teaching us how to maintain everything our dog learned. He explained everything clearly, gave us a detailed guide to reference at home, and made sure we felt confident before leaving. He is also incredibly responsive and always just a phone call away.
