I enrolled my dog for a board and train in November due to reactivity with house guests and resource guarding when it came to other people coming close to me at home, community, and overall everywhere in general. Me being a hands-on dog owner and letting her live with somebody temporarily whom I had never met was a hard decision but ultimately, it was a way to ensure safety of others and better that she would trained in a house, rather than a facility where she would have been caged and alone/scared overnight. While I do appreciate the training that Jackie provided for her during her stay, and the positive improvements that I have seen since she returned home, I am giving one star due to the continuous lack of communication and follow through. At the onset of the contract and stay, it was promised that I would get updates every 2-3 days. I never received any. I was always the one reaching out for communication after waiting passed the promised period, so as not to be a nuisance. I was given reports, but still feel that it was not my responsibility as the client to be the only one to follow up with what was promised to them. I tried giving the benefit of the doubt as I am sure holidays are a busy time in her line of work. However, I am writing this review due to another lack of communication. In the contract, there was a promise of 2 post private lessons to teach me how to work with my dog to be used within 6 months. I was told to reach out once I conditioned her to the muzzle. Well I did, and have tried reaching out via texts, phone calls, and social media 5 times within the past month, to which I have received no response AGAIN! As I have a job with a client pool as well, I understand that an occasional call/text can go forgotten. However, I make a note to remember to respond after 1 forgotten attempt as clients depend on the service they are being provided. The contract was paid in full at the time of arrangement so not responding to fulfill her end is unacceptable, poor business practice, and I'm no longer giving the benefit of the doubt. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME AND I PAID FOR SERVICES WHICH I HAVE NOT RECEIVED. Between friends, her groomer, and her vet, I was able to make sure the muzzle I got for her was fitted properly but that is not their job to do what somebody else WHO WAS PAID should have been doing. So basically, if you are looking for a "quick fix" for your dog and just want to give them to somebody for them to be behaved for you, then fine, go here. However, if you are a hands-on owner who wants to be involved with your dog's training and want the full amount of services that you were charged for, go somewhere else! My family even said, "why would she bother calling you back, she got her money already?" I try to be kinder than that, but beginning to think they are right.
