John was patient, knowledgeable, and great to work with throughout the process. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality dog training.

John worked with me (mostly) and my dog Max (pit bull mix, but we swear it's probably got some Rhodesian in it) for 4 sessions. By the second session I could already see results. Max used to get over excited and charge on our daily walks at other dogs. But after learning why, and the proper way to redirect and position myself as the leader, the incidents have gone down to almost none (he still wants to play with a certain dog that reminds him of his sister that's no longer with us). He also helped me with the right tools (the prong collar I got was not effective, and the one he recommended works way better and seems to not set him off like the other one did), and how to use those tools which were very important as using them incorrectly like I was doing beforehand was not working, but making things worse. I fully recommend him if you are having issues with controlling behaviors, as his approach of positive reinforcement and rewards based training really helped Max, as he was very into learning when the treats were involved, and I haven't had to use any for a while. I can't wait to start bringing my Bernadoodle puppy, so that feral beast can be somewhat civil, and we can walk without getting tangled up in each other.

Had my first basic training with John and my dog Milo. Right off the bat, John gave me the tools - physical and mental - for me to solve my issues with my new, young rescue dog. My home life is calmer, and walks are pleasurable. We are just starting our journey to a well-trained owner (and dog) LOL, but we see results already! I recommend Florida K9 to anyone that wants to improve their experience and life with their best friend!!
