Focus Dog Training - Obedience Dog Training

We adopted Ben & LuLu and we were looking for the “best of the best” of trainers to help with our pups. Having Rick as our trainer has done just that. The patience he has with us and our pups are top notch. Extremely knowledgeable and adaptable to our dogs individual needs. We feel so much more comfortable and in control of our dogs because of his guidance. He truly wants what is best for our dogs Which was extremely important to us as a family. We adopted Caroline as a rescue with unknown background. She was shy,skittish,fearful and withdrawn. Rick met with us and explained how he could work with us to give her confidence and bring out her buried personality. In just a few short months, she has become playful, is leash trained and loves to go for rides in the truck! She has already learned to not run and try to hide at every noise or new experience. She shows affection to visitors in our home but is also displaying very good "Dog Manners". I am extremely pleased with the progress so far. Rick is very easy to work with-he explains everything thoroughly and is quick to answer my questions even between training sessions. Caroline is better trained after only a few months of working with Rick than other dogs I have encountered after as long as a year of training.

When looking for a dog trainer it was difficult to find a reputable Certified trainer. There are many so-called dog trainers but few that have the qualifications of Rick Walkley. Rick was exactly what I was looking for in a trainer and has met and exceeded my expectations in his training methods. He’s not just helping me in training Jango but teaching me valuable information in the art and science of dog psychology. Rick has been extremely patient with Jango and always knows exactly what to do in every behavioral issue and training situation I have experienced. Rick really takes his time to explain things thoroughly and always follows up to make sure we are on track with our training lessons. It has been a joy working with Rick, his talent in dog skills are Immeasurable and notable beyond words. With that being said I highly recommend Rick as your professional dog trainer. Personally it’s been a great experience, and one that I’m excited about, especially in what the future holds in our journey of dog training.

We've been training with Rick for a few months with our 1.5 year old shepherd mix and have seen such an improvement in her behavior. Lucy was skittish, wouldn't listen, pulled on the leash and would bark like crazy at the dogs on the other side of the fence. At our first meeting Rick asked how we wanted Lucy to fit into the family, what kinds of things we wanted to do with her and how we wanted her to behave. He trains your dog how you want your dog to fit into your family. As owners, Rick taught (and trained) us how to be successful with Lucy as well, which is something I really appreciate. We love working with Rick and would recommend anyone willing to put in the work to properly train their dog!
