Foothills Canine Academy

UPDATE: As we were unable to schedule one of Brenda’s classes due to our schedule (would take every one of them if we were in the area!), we opted for 3 private training sessions and am so glad we did. As full time travelers, we have some unique settings for training and places we visit so WE need the tools that we will use for the pup and the older dog in the coming months. And what’s great, she allows us to video the instructions so we could go back to them when needed. She reached out and asked what we were needing to work on, sent her an email with the issues and spent the majority of the first session talking through them. In the end, we ended on engagement/trust building and will be using this to build on everything else. Within the first day, we had major progress and over the course of the three trainings, have the critical tools to work with the dogs moving forward and the pup was making great strides – up to you to put the time in to develop the best version of your dog. I cannot say enough about Brenda and Foothills Canine Academy. THANK YOU, BRENDA!!! PREVIOUS: Simply, Foothills puppy class was an awesome experience for us and Riley. The first few months of a puppies life is critica l to its behavioral and social development and we feel like novices each time we get a new puppy. As we the humans were being trained, we found Foothills uses a straightforward technique; however, it is up to you to do the work between the classes as the skills build on one another. The facilities are great and Brenda is very personable, has a good sense of humor and you can tell she loves all dogs. The skills she taught us and Riley will be very important as we are full time travelers around a lot of children, people and new surroundings. She helped us move Riley from a puppy of energy to one that was well-trained. We drove 50 miles each way through the morning rush hour and was totally worth it. But if we were in the area permanently, we would take every one of her classes!

If I could give this training facility six stars, I would. My dog, Mazie was a Covid19 puppy. For almost two years, she didn't encounter other dogs or people. She grew overly protective and territorial of me. I didn't have a clue how to change her behavior. I actually wondered if it was too late. Fortunately, I was wrong. Brenda, the trainer, was absolutely amazing! Her techniques really work and are so logical. Even though it was a group setting, she always took the time to work with Mazie and I individually. The facility itself, is very spacious and well maintained. Hands down, this was a warm, welcoming, and result producing place to train. Thanks Brenda!
