For the Love of Dogs Training, LLC

After adopting my 6 yr old Min Pin from a shelter, I knew I was in for a challenge. I brought him home and took him to the vet to get checked out. I wondered why he wouldn't let me touch or pet him. He would give me the "side eye", turn his head away, and then go somewhere else. Usually with a screech and a nip. The vet said he got much the same reactions. I asked the vet if he could recommend a trainer who could help me undo all of these fear reactions. He pointed me to Cheryl Flemming. Cheryl immediately put me at ease as she explained my Koda's behavior was not uncommon for a shelter dog. After a little longer, we became convinced he had endured some serious abuse as well. With Cheryl's guidance, she trained me how to use different methods to build his trust. He turned out to be a quick study so each week back to see Cheryl, she could see he was taking to his lessons well. Click and treat became my mantra. Over the 10 weeks of training, my Koda has become bonded to me and I am proud to take him places besides my bed. Now he can meet new people and other dogs and look like a perfect little gentleman. Now he will sit next to me on the couch and allow me to pet him. In fact, he never wants me to stop. I owe so much to Cheryl, for her expertise has translated to me having a wonderful buddy by my side. Thank you Cheryl. You ARE the very best. Jeanne

Cheryl has been a dream to work with, with our Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. With covid restrictions, she has a clean and safe environment at her home for a positive training experience. She does a fantastic job working with the pups as well as us as the owners so that we can continue to work with our dog even beyond the training sessions so the behaviors all stick. Our dog was always so excited to see her and we loved that we could work either at her home or out-and-about with the dog to get professional advice when bringing our dog out in public. We cannot recommend Cheryl highly enough and she's a genuinely lovely person and really fun to chat with!

We signed up for the 10 private sessions for our two young labs. It was the best decision we could have made. Cheryl is spectacular at what she does. Our dogs were excited each week to go to training and see the “treat lady”. She helped us teach them several tricks as well as basic obedience and focus. These are skills we will get to continue to use. I would highly recommend Cheryl and her services to anyone looking to walk away with a better relationship with your pet and a much better behaved dog.
