I was in need of some dog training for my Pug. He was pulling on the leash, barking at other dogs and people when on walks. Also, he would bark when other people were over and all the attention was not on him. I joked he suffered from FOMO. The live on line training worked wonders for us. The lessons were broken down into manageable tasks and the positive feedback from videos that we made during the week were very helpful. We really enjoyed our sessions.

Our dog, Wick, loves almost everyone, but there were a couple incidents where she was scared of a person and nearly bit them. It was so out of character for her, so it was very scary for us. Wick is our first dog, so we needed help recognizing her triggers and how to better deal with these situations. We did live personalized online one-on-one training sessions with Johanna, and she helped us recognize Wick's body language and taught us techniques to counter-condition her in situations that make her scared. Johanna was great to work with! We're now much more confident realizing when Wick is scared and how to handle it.

My family recently got a six month old bearded collie. We've had dogs in the past so we thought traditional training classes would work. But we hadn't had a lot of experience with this dog breed and we were quickly overwhelmed by his more energetic behavior. He would jump on everyone and engage in play biting behaviors. We were also worried because he would eat anything he could find. I found Four Legged Scholars in my search for training classes. I really liked the idea of personalized training courses that would help with our particular needs. I enrolled in the live personalized online class. I was a bit nervous about taking an online-only dog training course, but I found that the biggest difference really is that the online course put more responsibility on me. I couldn't sit back and rely on a trainer to do all the work. You definitely have to be more focused and engaged because the online class is more for you and addressing your needs as they pertain to your dog. We were able to focus on the more troublesome aspects of my dog's behavior, instead of quickly moving from topic to topic. We still work with my dog as much as we can, but Four Legged Scholars gave us the tools we needed to not feel so overwhelmed. My dog is a bit stubborn, so teaching him things like "drop it" or "come" definitely took more time to work through, but from our class we were able to create more of a step-by-step way of going through this training so it wasn't so stressful. We still work with him on these commands, but he has already improved so much. He understands the basics like "sit" or "stay," which he didn't know before we started. He has noticeably lessened in the troublesome behaviors he had, like jumping on everyone or eating any garbage or loose items around the house. We were able to better learn to gage his needs in terms of enrichment or mental stimulation through from our first class. My dog and I better understand what the other needs from each other.

We have a large family, including three big dogs. So when our biggest dog Obi, the Rottweiler, started showing aggression we panicked. The vet suggested we put him down after an experience in the office. He then said we could also try training and gave us Johanna's business card. Just a phone call with her made us feel like there was hope. We signed up to do the online sessions with FourLeggedScholars. The process from the first contact to the last was well oiled and very helpful. Obi gets to stay with our family now and we feel like meting with her has given us the guidance and knowledge we need to keep our family, friends and him safe. I was a tad worried about doing the training online, but it really worked out great and we were able to fit such a big task into our busy schedules. My kids and I recently completed our live personalized online one-on-one dog training sessions with Four Legged Scholars. I can report that the time spent was a success! Our pup Ollie had a lot to learn from recall to being house broken. During the allotted sessions, we managed to learn how to work with Ollie from his perspective.
