Four Paw Sports Center

We have visited this facility three times. We brought our <6 month old Labrador retriever to 2 puppy play sessions which were $18 each and ~45 minutes and attended 1 “Ready, Set, Go! (Finding the Right Class For Your Dog)” which was $60 for 90min. Both sets of trainers were very kind, calm, knowledgeable, nonjudgmental and helpful. The facility is organized, clean, with plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play. The floor is easy to clean up if accidents occur as well. There is free parking and a couple of grassy/dirty spots for your pup to use the bathroom. We definitely enjoyed our time here and I believe our dog, Phil, did as well!

My dog started agility here as a puppy 3 years ago. The gym equipment is great and our time at four paws really unlocked his confidence and love for getting through obstacles. But through the adult dog classes that he's taken, I've noticed there is little guidance or training during class time. We'll get some advice here or there, but there's no real opportunity or effort on the instructor's part to meaningfully assist with anything specific, especially when everyone is waiting on us to complete the course. I leave class feeling like it was a waste of time and money. It would be best if I just booked a private gym session for much cheaper because that's essentially what the class is. Our last gym had real structure and training plans where the trainers actually assisted in learning specific skills. I'm going to have to deal with the longer commute back there if we want to progress. Additionally, despite the questionnaire asking if there's anything to know about your dog, they never made the accommodation or spoke to me about why they can't/won't turn off some of the ceiling fans. I've trained my dog's natural interest in birds, and despite exposure training at home, these ceiling fans are different and catch my dog's interest. My dog is even interested in airplanes and helicopters. It's not ideal but I felt it's a simple request for a distraction free environment. I hate to spend any amount of time in class refocusing him to make a jump, but the instructor just watches us have trouble and does nothing. At the very least they could communicate that they don't want to turn off the fans. But my frustration at the lack of attention towards the quality of our experience is a deal breaker for coming back here. It's a shame.
