FirstBarkLindsey and her team are incredible! We worked with Lindsey to help our reactive dog become more confident and neutral on the leash as well as some off-leash recall. How many dogs do you take at a time in the board and train program?
Each trainer only takes a few dogs at a time, however this is dependent on that trainer's desired workload, lifestyle and home accommodations. While training is our number one service, we also offer Vacation Boarding for our clients, which may impact how many training dogs can be accomodated. In short, trainers are never given more than they can handle, which is why there may be a waitlist to start training, since we need to allow for ample time with each dog throughout the day to get multiple sessions and plenty of individualized care.

Dogs feel welcomed wherever their needs are met. In the instance of sending your dog to training, your Trainer will be the provider of all things comforting (food, water, shelter, play, affection, structure, etc). Once training is complete, this source of comfort and security will be transferred back to you, making the transition simple for your dog.

I'm afraid my dog will look great with my trainer, but I will not be able to replicate what the trainer has accomplished. Have you ever had a dog not listen to the owner once returned home?
This is a great question and a simple one...if your trainer can get your dog to listen, so can you! While your trainer will have TAUGHT the skills for you, it is imperative that you FOLLOW THROUGH with these skills once your dog comes home. Consistency is the key. So if you consistently follow through with what you ask of your dog, you will see the exact same success that your trainer has experienced. This is why we include continuing education in the forms of Follow Up Lessons and Refresh Classes. We want to ensure that you have the continued coaching you need to be just as successful as your Trainer!

What does dog vacation boarding entail?
Boarding itself may vary, depending on the needs of the dog and other dogs in your trainer's care. Feeding and medications are included in all boarding fees, as well as supervised free time or potential socialization with other client dogs, IF they are a good play match. Otherwise, training includes supervised free time. Should you opt info Refresh Training as an Add On, refresh sessions will look different day to day depending on your trainer's schedule, the weather, etc. Options are not limited to field trips, tagging along to follow up lessons, group training, hikes, etc.

While our dog was in their care, Mary updated us with photos/videos/texts regularly so we always felt like we knew what was going on, our dog was safe/cared for, and she was improving her manners! Our dogs program was tweaked based on how she was doing/responding to the training which we really appreciated rather than them just forcing her to stick to the program even though it wasn’t going to be beneficial. The video trainings they had us watch before getting our dog back are wonderful - very informative, practical, and professional. Since training our dog has gone back for brush up trainings, vacation stays, and the Freedom K9 team is always available to answer questions/provide help. They’ve improved not only our dogs life, but our lives as well and our dog is now able to go so many more places with us! If they have availability, go ahead and confirm your dates - they’re amazing and you will be so glad you did! We can’t thank them enough!!

We are experienced with Huskies, but he had some specific behavioral issues that I was at my end with. Freedom K9 was very responsive and helped us select an option that worked for us, 1-1 sessions. We diligently followed Lindsey's homework and were consistent. The transformation has been absolutely incredible. He is now fun to be around and take on walks and knows what is expected in our home. I can see him processing and making good choices. We are so glad to have found Freedom K9!

Please do not trust this woman with your animals. After 3 weeks of board/train with our 2 dogs and spending $4800, she returned one with burn marks and hair loss on one of the dogs neck from the e-collar. Lindsey admitted to knowing she had a sensitivity to it, knew she should have used a different pad/sensor, but neglected to order it and continued to train her with the e-collar, knowing it was causing harm. Also, both were stricken with heat exhaustion from her leaving them in her van with windows down on a hot day. Lindsey does not genuinely care for the well-being of animals, she is not responsive in a timely manner, and is very unprofessional in her interactions with us. There are trainers in our area that actually care for the well-being of dogs, while teaching them better behavior. Please do not use her as your babies may be harmed while staying with her!

My boyfriend and I rescued our girl Pepper from a shelter in October and it became clear quickly that she had terrible separation anxiety and some trouble learning/obeying commands. We tried crating her and she would become completely panicked to the point where she was hurting herself and going to the bathroom in the crate. We couldn't leave the apartment without one of us being with her constantly so we knew we needed professional training. We initially nervous about doing a board and train program but we are SO happy we did. Pepper did a three week program with Sarah and came back a much calmer, obedient dog. She does so much better on walks, is doing great with her commands, and most importantly, a lot better in the crate. We explained to Lindsay and Sarah that this was our biggest concern and they did a lot of work with her on settling. We still have a ways to go in getting her comfortable with the crate but she can now at least settle eventually and sleep. We had such a great experience with Freedom K9! They all genuinely care and devote so much attention not only to the dogs but to educating the owners as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to train their dog!
