FirstBarkDid snake avoidance training for my two dogs. Much different than I expected and it was perfect. The dogs seemed to respond well and I now feel a bit more comfortable that they will see snakes as a danger and stay away. We will definitely do the re-enforcement training next spring. Jen was awesome and we will be back.

How much work do I have to do?
That depends on you and your dog. However, most owners find that if they work with their dog for at least 20 minutes, 2 times a day, they will see remarkable results.

What training methods & equipment do you use?
We use a 'motivational' dog training approach. This method uses a combination of Traditional training and Positive Reinforcement training - tailoring programs to fit each individual dogs' temperament and needs. We use a variety of training equipment - depending on what will work best for each dog and owner team. Motivational Trainers reward through praise, treats, toys - whatever works for the owner and dog. They also give leash guidance to the dog and owner to stop or control problem behaviors that are destructive, annoying, or dangerous.

How often do we come to training classes?
Weekly or every-other-week training sessions generally work best, but we know sometimes life gets hectic. So, we try to be as flexible as possible with meeting your scheduling needs.

How much does dog training cost?
While it's impossible to estimate cost until we meet your dog, we have programs from around $900 to $1800 - completely depending on what we're working on with your dog. Our goal is to find the service that works for you and your individual needs. We also offer financing through PayPal Credit. Ask yourself this: How much does a waste of time & money cost? Amateur dog trainers usually charge around $400 to $600 per 6 week course. They do NOT offer specialized behavior modification methods. Imagine paying good money and then your dog is more aggressive, destructive, obnoxious, and disobedient than before. Over 50% of the dogs we see each year have already been to large group training classes with an amateur dog trainer. Another 30% of the dogs we see each year have been to other private trainers or board and train programs, and in some cases have spent thousands of dollars on methods that just don't work. Training without a good foundation doesn't give reliable, predictable results.

The Snake Avoidance training was absolutely spot on. Lots of different stimulus - sight, scent and sound. The one on one aspect was also great, no rush, plenty of time to work through it all. I highly recommend it for anyone with dogs in snake country.
We have put both of our golden retrievers through K9 classes, and cannot be more thankful for this program. The classes are catered to each dog’s needs, and the focus and attention Meg and Jordan give to each session made a world of difference in the training. We recommend them to everybody we know!

We found Front Range K9 after running into some pretty significant behavior problems with our pittie/aussie/cattle dog supermutt, Styx. We fell in love with his cuteness and playfulness at the shelter, but truthfully did not have enough information about his breeds and background to be successful with him. At first he was completely unable to walk nicely on a leash, was extremely reactive even seeing another dog from a distance (jumping, crying, pulling), and had little consistency with basic obedience. After struggling through youtube training videos at home with only minimal progress, we sought out professionals and are SO grateful that we chose Front Range K9. Specifically, we've loved working with Jordan, but Meg was great as well when we took a class with her. After working on problem solving and obedience, we have a completely different dog. We have the confidence and tools to take him almost anywhere we need to now. Our dream was to be able to sit at our neighborhood brewery with him which seemed like an impossible goal, but now is no problem. When we are out on walks these days, he's often better behaved than many of the other dogs we see. Most importantly, he just seems so much happier and calmer (even though he is still a huge spaz <3). We have plenty more to learn, but our relationship is already much better than I ever could have hoped. Styx has learned a lot, and we have learned even more as owners. Can not say enough good things!
