Fun Fur Paws

This was one of my favorite venues to trial at and unfortunately after today I won't be returning. After pulling onto the property in my car I got a little crazy and accelerated from 3 mph to 10 mph MAX, I'm being generous as my speedometer said 8 mph when I looked at it once I hit the gravel part of the driveway. It was 7:30 AM and there was noooobody outside in the particular area where I was parking, which is likely why I didn't realize I was going at such breakneck speed (also trying to lose the car that was tailing me for the last mile may have played part in the acceleration), either way I was in the wrong. Suddenly a large man came running, literally running, from the other side of the building and immediately became verbally abusive with me the moment I opened the door of my car. I am alone in my car, a large guy runs up to my car yelling and hurling insults at me, I'm a little stunned at the behavior to say the least. Only half way through his fit did I learn this bully was actually the property owner. If I have upset someone I want them to let me know so I can make things right but when I am approached by somebody who is clearly not stable... well, you've lost me at that point. I completely understand this person's frustration with speed violators and concern for safety on his property and a simple "hey, you were going a little fast there, the speed limit is 5 mph and we'll need to ask you not to return if that's not honored" would have been quite sufficient and I would've absolutely respected that. The positives: this is a nice venue, the woman that also owns it has been nothing but exceptional to us and while I haven't attended classes there I know they have talented trainers and I would guess the classes are great. After several months off from trialing I was so excited for this weekend and to be back at one of my favorite venues... it's just really disappointing that one person's overly aggressive behavior has made me afraid to ever go back there.
