Garrett Stevens' Alpha and Omega Dog Training

We took our dog to Alpha & Omega Dog Training in 2023. Our dog had difficulty letting anyone besides his owners physically touch him. He was not aggressive, but he dreaded physical touch. He also didn't "know how to dog" very well. Our dog would jump and pull like crazy and would do anything to avoid strangers’ touch. Garrett and David were incredibly patient and understanding of this. They did a great job at teaching us owners the skills and activities needed to work on these behaviors, and throughout the training sessions our dog improved tremendously. These training sessions are not just for our furry friends, however. They are for the owners too! It’s important to understand how dogs communicate with one another and how they communicate with humans, and Alpha & Omega builds its foundation on this. It’s not a one stop fix like taking your car to the shop. It’s an investment in the relationship you have with your canine family member. David was constantly available to answer questions we fired his way and open to teaching us how to build on the skills we learned. While our dog has improved a lot, we will continue to improve on those skills to get better each day. Our dog does let strangers touch him often now (albeit he doesn’t love it), and he communicates much better with other dogs. I’d recommend Alpha & Omega to anyone who deeply cares about their dog as a member of their family. It truly sets up for a mutual relationship with your dog where you don’t need to bribe and manipulate them. I'd also recommend picking up Garrett's book Dog Myths as well.

Honestly they are amazing. I have a Mastiff who is 160 Ibs and is difficult to handle when she is going for something she does/doesn’t like. Such as people. She is very hesitant and aggressive* to new people barking, pulling/ dragging me, biting if she can. If you have ever seen a large dog get aggressive you know it’s terrifying and in our case rather sad and very disappointing because she is the best dog with our family and our animals. I had another trainer (not affiliated with alpha and omega) come to our home and unfortunately my dog bit her, she did not penetrate the skin or draw blood but STILL. The trainer said she needs medication and a muzzle she won’t be able to help until we can control her more, which I was not opposed to looking into, but the process is long and honestly I thought there has to be something else. After one session with David, a team member to Garrett, I got my confidence back. David had mentioned he worked with other mastiffs much larger than my girl 200+Ibs, I’m mentioning this in my review because this was something I was specifically looking for and couldn’t find in reviews or on the website. Their website does says Any Breed, Any Age, Any Problem and it’s true! However if you are like me, you want specifics or a review you can relate to; to help make your decision. Especially if you think your dog is a lost cause, like I did. Anyway, they helped restore my confidence and faith in my girl. David even walked her and she tried to attack. He very calmly was able to handle it and then kept walking her! It was incredible to watch and see how we can handle her. He walked us through and actually trained us it made a world of a difference. I really do not know what else to say. I recommend them to anyone and everyone. Scream it from the roof tops! I’ll be a walking ad for them from now on😅 this is your sign! If you are hesitant about cost, just think how many trainers you may have to go through before coming here. (I wasted money not coming here first and hopefully I can save you from doing the same!) Garrett's team was amazing!! They were able to work with my busy schedule and accommodate the specific areas that I wanted to work on with my pup. The team gave me great advice and gave me a lot of tools that I am able to use at home. They handled his fear aggression so incredibly well and helped relax my nervous pup. It was also so relieving to have the kennels available for boarding. I can't thank the team enough for giving me the tools that can be used in our upcoming move!
