Genius Dogs Training

If I could give more stars, I would. I was in a complete panic when we adopted our dog and he was more than we were prepared to handle, which was no fault of the dog!!! We knew we needed help. My husband found Brian online and he was local (thank goodness). I called and rattled off my laundry list of concerns while I was half-crying and Brian was quick to calm my nerves and had complete confidence he could help us. He assured us that our dog was not too tough to handle. We decided to go the board and train route (WE wanted to do that - Brian didn't push that) and prior to the scheduled board and train Brian met with us a few times to start working on basic manners, like walking on a leash. Even after our first training with Brian we felt more confident and I could see a light at the end of the tunnel. Brian was 100% confident our dog was trainable and would do quite well. I will say, 1 training is NOT enough - we had so much to learn and each training has given us more confidence and reassurance. The board and train was a great choice for us so Brian could build a sturdy foundation for obedience and training. Now it's up to us to keep that going, to continue learning from Brian, and using the tools (safely and effectively). If you watch Brian with any dog, you can see how he truly cares for every dog and wants every dog to succeed in their environment. He genuinely cares. He also wants us dog parents to know WHY he does things and HOW he trains so we also make the connection and use that knowledge to continue training at home. Do I recommend Brian's team for training? 110%. There is a reason he's scheduled months out. And I would suggest waiting if you can. It's worth it to be able to work with his team!

I brought a new puppy home shortly after I lost my 11+ year old baby girl unexpectedly, and I forgot how difficult it would be with a 2 month old puppy and our other 11+ year old dog. I fell in love with this puppy and forgot how difficult it was to train a puppy. I started searching online for a trainer because I knew I didn’t have the skills or time to do it myself, and I came across Genius Dogs. I sent a request and was shocked when I received an actual phone call from Brian the next day! In all honesty, I didn’t know who to contact and reached out to multiple companies, but Brian at Genius Dogs was the only one that cared and reached out immediately! After speaking with him, I knew I found the best person to help train my new puppy. Unfortunately, because she was so young, he wasn’t able to take her on immediate, but offered to meet with us prior to start date to help with training essentials. He worked with my schedule and we met multiple times before official training started, which was appreciated more than anything. We dropped our 6 month old puppy off at his home in mid June, 1 week before my husband was scheduled to have major surgery. Timing was perfect, and Brian kept us updated with photos and videos during her training. 4 weeks is a long time to be without your new puppy, but it was well worth it knowing that she was getting the training that she needed. Results were incredible, and I have been able to keep in contact with Brian after training time was completed. My puppy is now able to ride in a vehicle without getting sick, be calm in public places with use of E collar, and has been more obedient with going into her crate when prompted. While this may not seem like a big deal to dog owners, it was a huge transformation for our family and puppy because she has suffered from severe anxiety since she was born. I can’t than Genius Dogs enough for the time and love they gave to my puppy!!! Truly a blessing and Brian continues to be available when I reach out to him!!!!
