Gentle Wolf Dog Training

Gentle Wolf Dog Training KC really helped our dogs with walking on a leash and reacting to other dogs in the neighborhood. Hollis observed us and our dogs and gave us techniques to use to change their behavior. She demonstrated what to watch for, the correct training actions and the follow through to keep making progress. Our walks are much more enjoyable for everyone. Highly recommend Gentle Wolf.

Angela is an absolute godsend. She needs her own show on Animal Planet she’s that good. I have had other trainers in the area work with my dogs before and I have spent around 2k on training total BEFORE calling Angela. I never received that value back. Yes my dogs can sit and stay but if another dog walks by all hell breaks loose. I had kind of given up and use the avoidance method when passing other dogs. A friend at work told me that he had done an eval with her and it sounded promising so I decided to give it a try and see. Both of my dogs are 7 yrs old and have some things to work on but my dog Buddy I’ve had since a puppy is very protective, anxious, and very high energy. No one has ever been able to walk him besides me. A previous trainer who had worked at the zoo with big cats was intimidated by him when he grabbed the leash from her hand and yanked it out. She never tried working him after that. At the first eval session Angela did just that. It wasn’t pretty but it was amazing to me that someone finally was able to walk him some distance. He fought her the whole way trying to get back to me. After that she did a few more things with him and my other dog Maple who she had walking up to her dog with no reaction(also pretty amazing). Since then we have had about 7 more sessions and can now walk in the park with other dogs without reacting which is crazy. The biggest obstacle has been myself not my dogs. I forget to do certain things and she has to remind me. She does all of this while listening to what you say and what your goals for you and your dogs are. She is very honest and will tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear and I needed a bit of that. Also the best thing about her is she is pretty flexible with her time as we have met after work at 6-7 o’clock and Saturdays and Sundays. Her training isn’t treat based or command driven which is nice because treats can get expensive although I’m sure she can teach your dogs how to sit and stay if that’s what you want. If you’re thinking about getting a trainer for your dog stop thinking and just contact her for an eval. If you’ve had a trainer before and didn’t get what you paid for I assure you that you will with Angela. And if you have an older dog that you think training is too late I promise its not. Do one session with her and you will see.

I've never met a trainer who is as knowledgeable, patient, caring and someone who truly puts her heart into helping you and your pup. Angela's detailed and structured training has changed not only my dogs lives but changed my view of dog training/behaviors as a whole. To have a trainer that knows dogs as well as Angela does has been wonderful to our life. She also works with our foster dogs to make sure they are ready to find their best home. Her merch is also super cute I wear it ALL the time! Thank you Angela for all you've done for us and to the dogs in Alabama. There's no better team to work with than Gentle Wolf!

Angela understands dogs more than anyone I’ve ever met! I truly believe there isn’t a behavioral problem that could scare her away. My dog, Weezy, and I have been working with Angela for a few months now. Weezy stayed with Angela for 2 weeks for a board and train where she got a great foundation. Weezy is very reactive to other dogs (barking, lunging, etc). Angela taught me that Weezy isn’t aggressive, just frustrated. Angela makes it easy to continue the training at home. We follow up regularly with Angela and I feel so much better about my dog’s behavior! She has made great strides and I can’t wait to see how she continues improving working with Angela!
