I had brought Kelly my 1 year and 2 month golden retriever who had been having some food aggression issues, anxiety, and some other general misbehaviors. Before taking her to Kelly we had seen a behaviorist who essentially said our dog was a lost cause and had taken her two other trainers who said she was going to be a hard case to solve and wasn’t up for the task. After spending a couple of months with Kelly, she has improved dramatically and is a brand new dog! Her focus is has increased and she is way more attentive to commands, she is less scared of things she doesn’t know, and she is getting along greatly now with our other dog. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results of her time spent with Kelly! What also helped was Kelly helped showed us how to continue training her how to behave and how to properly correct her. Having Kelly have us be there for some of the training sessions went a far way in instilling confidence in us to reinforce the training and for our dog to listen to us as well. I would highly recommend Kelly to anyone I know who has a dog in need of training.

We recently completed a 3 week training program with Kelly at Geronimo Kennels and we couldn’t be happier with the experience and the results. We absolutely love Kelly! We have a 1 year old Doberman. We were initially recommended by another client of hers at the park who spoke very highly, so we decided to reach out. We were actually on the fence with continuing training at our local place or taking him to Kelly. She did a great job of explaining everything on the phone and we went ahead and set up our visit. I was a little hesitant of board and trains due to stories with other trainers I’ve heard. Kelly made us feel very comfortable. I love that Kelly is extremely knowledgeable of different breeds, and pays close attention to their behaviors, attitudes, and even health factors (like our boys skin) while they are there. I really appreciated Kelly’s approach to things such as taking her time with our boy, being patient, allowing him to be his goofy self at times, instead of putting too much pressure on him. Saint absolutely adores her and that’s due to the relationship she builds with her dogs. Saint came to Kelly with “intermediate obedience” which really meant he did everything for a treat and if you didn’t have one, good luck 😂 Safe to say, that is not the case now. We tried to visit as much as we could, which I feel played a big part in how well he did with us. He is very obedient and you can tell he enjoys the work + impressing you. We included off leash e-collar work in our goals and it was hands down the best thing we have done. It gives him and us so much freedom while still being able to trust him. I appreciate that Kelly doesn’t make dogs collar smart, she uses the tools to teach the dog what she wants and doesn’t want. A few times we’ve realized we didn’t have the collar on the right setting (at our own fault) however, we would’ve never known because he listened like it was on! If you’re on the fence, I hope this helps! I can’t recommend Kelly and Geronimo Kennels enough!

Kelly did a great job helping my 6-month-old Brittany puppy learn basic obedience over a two-week period. He now heels well for walks, stays for sit and down stays, will go to his "place" and remain in a down, calmly resting while I do things such as water shrubs and trees, etc. He also is calmer around other dogs instead of being way too happy excited. She had him practice a lot doing obedience exercises with other dogs being distractions. I was amazed at how well he did with that during our training sessions together. He also now knows to pause getting in and out of the car, kennel, house and waits for me to let him know when to enter or exit. While still a puppy who has moments of silliness, he is calmer now and more content. He is much more responsive to me and is better at listening to me. One of my goals was to stop the wild happy excited pulling and tugging on the leash when we went for walks. While I have to occasionally remind him, he is now heeling nicely by my side. I'm very grateful. And, my puppy seemed to have a great time at Kelly's. Kelly treated him kindly and provided lots of praise. And, he got to play with other dogs appropriate for his size and activity level. He enjoyed that! I am grateful for this training opportunity and for Kelly's training methods. This was a much better fit for my puppy and me than other training we had tried.
