Contacting Kostas with Gingerbread Dog Training was the best decision I’ve made regarding my dog and best friend, Echo. Echo is a 2 year old GSD that I brought into my life a few months ago; and I much as I want to say was a good dog, had several significant issues. Echo had severe separation anxiety, along with leash reactivity to other dogs, and nothing I tried worked. He would bark, lunge on the leash and became unmanageable around other dogs, to the point that we always walked at night, and never in a public place or dog park. After a short consultation and recommendation for Echo and I to enroll in his “safe dog” program. Within a few short lessons I began seeing a change Echo, just as Kostas had said. He became a more confident and calm dog with an eagerness to please. Kostas made himself available at anytime that I needed guidance during my “at home” training lessons with Echo; offering not only advice on how to correct any problem that arose, but also the “why” behind we what we were doing. I found this to be extremely helpful and gave me the confidence to correct issues and to have the foresight to correct any additional problems that might arise in the future. Just a few short weeks of training and guidance, Echo had completely changed and I now have the utmost confidence to take him anywhere. Our two awesome dogs were smart, loving, and wonderful with our family, but were not well behaved when guests came to our home, and were easily distracted and pulled instead of heeling on leash during walks. There were acts of aggression toward strangers (not biting, but definitely not welcoming), and toward each other at times. We tried multiple trainers early on, with hopes of nipping these behaviors in the bud, but with no success. Finally we found Gingerbread Dog Training. Kostas Katsikis took the time to get to know us and our dogs, and spent a lot of time explaining canine behavior patterns and psychology. In the process, he dispelled many myths and common misunderstandings about dog behavior and dog training. He employed a strong, yet careful training regimen tailored to our dogs’ individual behaviors, and we began to see results immediately. It is clear that Kostas knows what he is doing. I won’t go into detail as to the training methodology he employed for our dogs, because it might not be the same as the methods he would prescribe for your dog. But, i can say for sure that it was very safe, humane, effective and produced immediate results. Prior to his training, our dogs would lose control even if an Amazon driver dropped a package off at the door. After training, we have had multiple large gatherings at our house, and numerous visitors, and neither dog acted out in any way. We can take them on walks and they are well behaved even when strangers or other dogs approach. It is a complete change in their behavior. I would strongly recommend Gingerbread Dog Training.

Before I brought my dog to Gingerbread Dog Training, I had contemplated the possibility that I would need to give my rescue dog up to be re-homed. He is a 1-year old husky mix, and until we sought training with Gingerbread Dog Training, my dog had very high anxiety and was extremely aggressive toward other dogs. Walking him had become impossible, and we had to keep the blinds in the house all closed so that he wouldn’t see any dogs walking by the house, otherwise my blinds would be bitten and pulled down. My dog was also urine marking throughout the house, food guarding, and would never listen to me. After less than a month of training with Kosta at Gingerbread Dog Training, my dog seems like a new dog! It’s truly amazing what he has done for my dog, and for my home. My dog now listens to me, is no longer aggressive toward other dogs, no food guarding, and the urine marking has completely stopped. I finally can open my blinds too. Honestly, I’m still in a state of amazement at how my dog has transformed into this wonderfully well mannered dog. Kosta is a miracle worker. I highly recommend Gingerbread Dog Training.
