Recommend! Recommend! Recommend! (did we mention we recommend?!) We did the board and train for a week and then 5 personal sessions after that. My dog was a rescue who was found in the wild and that’s what she was, a wild child. On top of that she was a puppy, so we had a lot to work on. We’ve never had to resort to a trainer for any of our dogs, however our newest one had some issues we couldn’t seem to get past. She would jump and nip at anyone trying to come into the house, including us. She pulled on a leash and seemed to go deaf when she didn’t want to do what we needed her to do. She was easily overstimulated and after reading Gnawty Dog reviews, we decided to give it a try. Heather drove almost an hour which was amazing. We had private sessions to work with our dog, as our issues occurred only within and around our house. Some sessions we worked with just our dog, others she brought her dog to help work with my dog. She provided everything! She got us a place cot, a dog treat pouch, some treats/goodies, and she provided our mini educator collar as my dog needed a little more persuasion. Our sessions were an hour long and I never felt that she rushed our sessions. There were times she stayed over to make sure we (the dog and us) were on the same page and doing everything correctly. Heather will make you do the work! We sent weekly videos to her of our progress. I even texted her when I had questions about the dog, and she always responded and offered hints/tricks. She will throw a lot of information at you because she is passionate about dogs. She knows it’s a lot, so she even emailed us check lists and follow ups which was great because you’re trying to do everything she has taught you correctly, while teaching you to hold your doggy accountable. My last straw, which lead to hiring Heather, was when my mother came over and my dog jumped and nipped my mom. (Not aggressive attack, but nippy, and it was enough my mother did not feel safe to come to my house). On top of my dog being so much better behaved overall I am happy to say my mother comes over and even told me she is no longer afraid to visit. This was worth every penny spent! Again, did I mention we highly recommend Gnawty Dog?! You will not be disappointed!

Couldn’t ask for better service!! Gives knowledge, real life examples, patience of a saint, discusses our needs and creates a plan for them and tweaks to meet our needs and the dogs. Told us about clubs to check out to meet our end goal. Kindness, pure passion for the animals. Knowledgable, experienced, has champion dogs of her own to prove her skills and abilities, problem solves along the way, open communication, ongoing check in, gives homework, helps create a plan of action, starting points, the steps to achieve them, goals and expectations. The biggest heart of any trainer I’ve ever met. Helps build your own confidence, gives praise and positive corrections to help you be your very best with and for your dog. Knows the different sports, trainings, trainers, mentors, empowers you to be the best with and for your dog. Helped change not just the way we work with our dog, but as a family, and how best to communicate, helps guide us to be in the same page, create schedules, explains what the dog needs at ages and stages, reasonable expectations and advancement. Can work with and communicate all types of people and dogs. Boards, trained, mentors, teaches, researches, up to date on happenings and methods, gives tons of options and works at the best pace for your family dynamics and the dogs needs. Can NOT Rave about Heather enough. She has changed our lives and our dogs life so so so so much for the better. You just have to see it and do it to understand. She can do just about anything (we haven’t found a problem, she doesn’t have experience with, and can’t problem solve with us). Pure ROCKSTAR!!! Most amazing woman with biggest heart! And all while building yours and your dogs confidence, relationship, and understanding of expectations, communication, and how to read the dogs needs, body language, how to do corrections in the most positive ways. Takes the negativity out of the equation and makes it fun, rewarding, and challenging in the very best of ways. We called soooo many places and Gnawty Dog Academy is the very best we tried. And could never imagine the life we’ve been able to build with and for our dog and family. Thank you Heather. You are a life saver, positive mentor, teacher, educator, professional. All while building the foundations for success. We went from a becoming a broken and defeated family due to the dog and not knowing how to change things, to being able to be a family, have fun, bring our dog out, learning the tells of our dog and learning to become a team.
