We (parents and 2 teens) began lessons with Nick and our 12 week old pup. Our whole family participated, and we learned an incredible amount from Nick. We then decided to send our pup to stay with Nick for a few weeks bc we weren't confident that we would be able to train him to where we would like him to be. He's going to be a fairly large dog. Nick did an incredible job. He sent us videos regularly so we could see what he was doing and watch the progress. When the training was done, Nick came to our house a few more times to continue to train us (the humans). He has given us so many valuable lessons on how to properly and effectively communicate with our pup. Our pup came back to us so well trained, and now we are trained too. We all feel confident and relaxed with our big guy. Nick doesn't use militant methods that are harsh. He thoroughly explains his methods and the process. He provides support for us humans. Nick understands that your pup is going to be a part of your family and doesn't encourage unrealistic or unreasonable training. He spoke to us about what we wanted from training, what we wanted from our pup, and based much of what he did with him off of our needs and wants. Our, now 7 month old, pup is calm and happy. We couldn't have asked more from Nick.

We recently hired Nick to help us with our one year old golden retriever puppy who needed behavioral intervention. Upon meeting Nick, we were assured that once trained, our Finley would not come back as the same wild, undisciplined, adolescent dog who ruined our window blinds, ate through our wall, ripped out leather sofas, scratched up our bathroom door, dug holes in the backyard and grab things off our kitchen counter. Nick had our lovable yet wild dog for 7 weeks including training sessions with Finley in our home. Nick video taped daily the training sessions, while explaining his techniques used through the course training. Additionally, Nick treated Finley like one of his own. He also communicated with us daily through texts and phone conversations. Before Finley arrived back home, Nick came to our house to help us prepare for Finleys return. It was imperative to continue what Nick had accomplished by training the trainer. He walked us through the training steps, commands, the dos and don’ts, to continuously strengthen our confidence when Finley would come back home. When Finley came back, he had the same fun loving, energy when we first dropped him off but now was smarter and definitely more manageable. I could not believe the change. Having our dog like this was a blessing. He’s a real dog with real energy but now disciplined. Makes a world of difference! We recently dropped off Finley for boarding at Nicks home, and I couldn’t believe the relationship he had built with Finley. Finley could not wait to get into Nicks yard and home. The BEST decision we ever made was to use Nick Messina as our K9 trainer. He gave our dog and our family peace and quality of life back. We had already gone through 3 other trainers and were recommended medicating our dog when our veterinarian seeing our struggle recommended Nick. If you’re looking for a dog trainer, Nick Messina should be your only choice. He has a special way with dogs and their owners that is knowledgeable and all encompassing. After working with our spoiled, aggressive 8 lb Maltese, both our world and little Jacx’s world has been changed forever.
