I have more but google has a limit on words! If you have a dog with anxiety or suspect it, then be warned if you are thinking about training at this facility. They give you an application for you to complete as the owner as well as the one that knows your dog. Do not think you are helping your dogs training! They picked our application apart telling us that dogs don’t have anxiety as he majored in psychology. Yes, anxiety is real especially when 5 months of your life you were mistreated. When we rescued him at 5 months, he would not even walk to us. He is now 10 months old so he has come a long way in learning to play as well as trusting us. My husband talked w Damon several times & sent an email explaining the degree of anxiety. We explained the situation we rescued him from & it was VERY evident Damon never listened to us. He mentioned our dog having anxiety worse than he thought when we went to pick him up!! After meeting Damon I wanted to take my dog and leave due to the arrogance of this man. My husband insisted this was a great trainer per his research as well as conversions they had. We know our dog does not need chicken or at least dog food with chicken. He is a Lab, so we follow pages of other owners who mentioned the same issue of spots when they feed them with food containing chicken. Once we removed food containing chicken and gave him benadryl for a couple days, the spots went away. (We did speak with our vet also.) According to Damon, we should do an expensive allergy test or our dog is not allergic. We take great care of our animals; however, the issue was fixed with common knowledge in comparison to other Labs so our vet did not see us having to pay hundreds of dollars for a test that would prove what we knew & was controlled. The dogs are not allowed to have anything from home except their food that they are fed once a day. This training group trains with Chicken hot dogs mostly as to what we were told and clickers. We know that our dog was not trained as they claimed nor was he outside or going on trips that much. There is a way we know if he is outside for a certain amount of time! We know that he did not receive the treatment as a “show” dog would receive. Arrival was at 4 pm and was picked up at 11 am however was charged $100 per day to pretty much live in a kennel. Pictures were taken and sent to us of a trip to a local pet store and maybe another local store then part of the hiking trail that was not even 10 or 15 minutes. We were told he would go to other stores & train in places that we normally would go to. Why ask if you are not going to keep your word? They did not spend much time with him as it is clearly evident however they offered to keep him another week for free. No thanks on a free week or touch up days or to be boarded there. This was the biggest waste of money ever! Now we have lost $1,400 AND our dog ended up at the vet with a bacterial infection and a fever of 103! All dogs have a common water bowl outside. A few other points …. Damon said we are the cause of his anxiety because he sleeps (snores) in our bed. Even though our dog was rescued at 5 months in a bad situation that has nothing to do with his anxiety as to what we were informed by the trainer. However both of our vets that have been amazing with our animals have other opinions as they know the medical records and listened. Damon doesn’t seem to like any vet's opinion except maybe the one he referenced based in Nashville. At no point was our dog ever evaluated prior to the training. One reason I wanted to leave with him and husband referred to the picture they paint of “show” dogs. Damon loves to throw out names of famous people he has worked with. I would say he did as they could afford the recommended kennel and food. Plus, I am sure they don’t have special dogs that need the extra care, love and patience. We do not recommend taking any dog that is not a fast learner or one that has any form of anxiety. Make your decision on the dog you know you have not the one the trainer expects per his physiological studies.
