I cannot recommend Good Dog K9 Training highly enough. We had a class of 8 dogs, and my dog made a ton of progress in the program. It had a great structure and Adele is one of the best pros. Would highly recommend to a friend!

I just finished the Puppy Obedience Group Course with Adele. Our class had about 10 puppies, big and small breeds. We met outdoors at different parks and outdoor areas in the Burbank area. My challenge with our dog is that he is very reactive around other dogs and people. He is friendly, but is overly hyper when he sees other dogs. Our goal was to get him in a structured group environment and train him to focus even when other dogs and people are around. While he is not perfect, he has improved greatly over this course. Adele is very patient and offers all the owners different tips unique to their challenges. Even in a group class I found that we got personal attention. Adele would text us to offer makeup classes, and extra play dates. She really goes above and beyond. The tuition for the classes is also very reasonable, and we hope after some more practice our dog can become more obedient and relaxed in different environments.

I signed up with Adelita with a friend who also just got a puppy. I didn’t know what to expect but really didn’t get anything out of the class. The first class I went to, I think there were too many puppies and Adelita didn’t do the best job of making sure everyone was taken care of. But on top of this, we didn’t learn anything. We only learned how to walk our dogs on a leash, which I knew how to do. I think the worst part was we were made to “make our dogs submit”. Adelita sent us a video and me and my friend just felt really uncomfortable doing this to our little puppies. When we said this to Adelita, I think she was a bit offended. Then we had some scheduling conflicts due to kennel cough so I tried rescheduling and getting one on one training. We met one more time after that but then stopped hearing from Adelita. It was a bit of a whirlwind, but in the end, we only got to do 2 classes. And my dog didn’t really learn anything. It was not that expensive but I wish I would’ve gone to someone else had I known this info. So hopefully this can help. I think Adelita does love what she does but I think maybe she is better with smaller groups so just keep that in mind.

Hi Jesse, I see you took my class in August-September of 2020. I’m sorry the first two classes you took weren’t what you expected. I have been training dogs since 2002 and I can tell you that there is a lot of high energy when dogs and people have not met or trained before at the first lesson. This is what is going to happen at any first dog meet or obedience class no matter where you go. I try to make sure everybody understands the schedule at Orientation - that it is each dog owners’ responsibility to make it to the classes. I understand your dog had kennel cough and we discussed other options. And, I provided you with 2 one hour, private lessons. I understand you did not agree with the subject of “submitting”. Forgive me for using the wrong verbiage and, in fact, I should have explained the “veterinarian check” which is commonly done for the purpose of administering things at a vet office, during grooming and other activities that a dog needs to be able to understand and be comfortable with. Making a puppy calmer using your hands was the purpose of this drill. You asked for some extra help which I agreed. I do this because I think most people are committed and I really felt that you were in this category and still are (committed to making your dog the best it can be). Most untrained dogs and owners have a hard time controlling their dog while on a walk. Therefore, leash training is very important for the safety of their dog as well as the dogs they encounter. This is why we start to learn this early in the program. For my clients, it important to let me know if they aren’t able to come to the Good Dog K9 Training and Services®, LLC Obedience classes or if they need a little extra help and then I’m always willing to work with my clients’ schedule. Unfortunately, I’m unable to satisfy your needs. I do wish you and your pup the best. :)

Adele is a very professional and caring trainer. In addition to one on one sessions she has classes for the dogs once a week in person and once on zoom. Our new puppy, Ruby has benefited from both the classes and the one on one sessions. Adele has patience with new puppy parents and makes the training fun and informative. I highly recommend her program.
