Good Dog! Training and Boarding

Our vet referred us to Josh for our extremely fearful young dog, and we're so grateful. His calm, thoughtful approach gave us the tools to build her confidence at her own pace. When it came time to board, he introduced her gradually, and she ended up thriving. During nearly a week long stay she was playing with other dogs and coming out of her shell more than we ever expected. I am so grateful that we found Josh and his business, Good Dog. We came across him by chance. We were driving by and saw a person out with several dogs playing Frisbee in an open meadow. That was Josh, the owner, playing with all the dogs! We had always had a dog/house sitter, but I was looking for a place that offered play time with other dogs and an open field or meadow. Not a standard kennel, for many reasons. We made an appointment with Josh and were impressed with the joint interview, secure facilities and grounds and the other well behaved dogs on premise. He made it clear that he only accepted dogs that were well behaved and social. That's exactly the kind of dog I wanted to be playing with my dog! Once Josh felt confident with our dog's obedience and socialization that afternoon, he asked that she come for an overnight to make sure she would be comfortable. While there, we toured the kennel area which was clean, temperature controlled, and had cameras that he could monitor, as needed. Each individual kennel had a greaseboard with name, owner and vet info. It smelled clean! He told us his daily schedule for the dogs and stressed how routine is important. We've boarded our dog there now numerous times, overnight and up to two weeks. She has always come back healthy, happy and full of joy. She gets better care there than she did with a dog sitter in our home! I recommended Josh to a friend with 2 dogs and they now have become a part of the Good Dog family!
