We could not be more grateful for Andrew and Jahaira! We were struggling to manage our almost 3-year-old pitty mix Tala, and after a 3 week board and train we have seen a HUGE difference and finally feel like we have the tools to manage her and give her more freedom. Her reactivity has gone down and her confidence has definitely gone up, and so has ours. Aside from the training, Andrew has been so patient with us and does such a good job educating and answering all of our questions so we can understand Tala and fulfill her needs. Highly recommend Good Dogz KC if you’re looking for dog training in KC! 😊

I can’t recommend Good Dogz KC enough. I was seriously struggling and feeling like there was nothing to fix storms reactivity. Storm went from being insanely reactive losing her mind over everyone, every dog pulling me all over the place barking and in defense mode ready to go after anyone we would come across. Called andrew at Good Dogz KC in August, we are now only 3 sessions in and I feel like I have a brand new dog, we can peacefully go on walks everyday, close encounters with neighbors in our apartment, dogs, bicycles with no problem. She has completely transformed I finally feel like I can breath and I’m not struggling or scared to be around distractions anymore!

We took our cocker spaniel rescue puppy, David Rose, to Good Dogz KC after realizing we were in way over our heads. Like many in his breed, he came with strong hunting instincts, high arousal, and a tendency to get overstimulated. Eventually his behavior became more reactive, and despite our best efforts that worked with our past dogs, we simply didn’t have the skills to help him. David initially was playful and social, and easy for us to manage. He was eager to train on basic commands, but as he changed beyond what we knew, he eventually struggled to read cues from other dogs, respect boundaries, and calm down when overstimulated. He would lunge and get anxious around everyday triggers. Blowing leaves, acorns, anything with legs or wheels, even the wake off our boat! He was overwhelming when guests came into the house, jumping and barking from excitement. Taking him places became restrictive and we started avoiding walks and having visitors over with him out of his kennel. A friend recommended Andrew and Jahaira, and it was the best decision we could have made. David spent 28 days with them (at their home, with their family) and we had weekly sessions where they taught us how to put what David learned into practice. The skills we were taught were tangible, practical, and easy to continue at our own home. Now, after training, the change is remarkable. David has learned how to relax, respect boundaries with other dogs, and navigate the world without spiraling. We were taught how to guide him through different arousal levels using place training, kennel work, recall, and structured play. The verbal cues they established between us and David have completely transformed how we communicate with him. Our friends and family constantly notice the difference and ask what we did. He’s still the fun, playful dog we love, just a calmer, more confident, and well-adjusted version. Most importantly, we became better dog owners in the process. We are forever grateful to Good Dogz KC. Andrew and Jahaira gave us the consistency and confidence we needed to be successful dog parents!

These people know dogs!! I’ve had my dog for a little over a year and there were some behavioral flaws I felt needed to be addressed. Things like leash reactivity, basic commands, and house manners were some of the behaviors I wanted to tackle with Kirby. After my phone call consult I immediately knew that this team was going to help Kirby and I learn to work with each other. We completed two sessions with Jahaira and Andrew and they provided me with all the tools I needed to correct Kirby’s behaviors. I look forward to seeing Kirby thrive in environments that were always a hassle for me after these training sessions. I cannot recommend Good Dogz KC enough! They really hone in on the dog’s personality and figure out what works best for you both. I’m very impressed with their work it was some of the best money I’ll ever spend!
