Good K9 Academy

David was amazing! Our pup Chance went for training because he was reactive to everything. We couldn't go on walks with him because of how reactive he was. After a week of David working with him we were walking off leash through Rio NO PROBLEM! I couldn't believe it. Walking with Chance is an absolute dream now. David sent us daily video updates, was so patient with teaching us the commands and showing us how to guide Chance through any scenario, was very attentive with Chance's needs, always on time, super fast to respond to us, and just an absolute joy to work with. I cannot thank Good K9 Academy and David enough for helping us with our Chance and delivering the results that other trainers didnt.

Initially, I was hesitant about signing my dog up for their two week board and train because I seriously thought there was no training hope for him as we tried and kept trying to train him to no avail but nonetheless we signed him up and had him go to Good K9 after reading great reviews online, following their social media page and having friends who previously trained with them. I can honestly say the two week program was worth every single penny!!! my dog Kody is a Jack Russell and super high energy, but it was a huge struggle getting him out of the house and being able to enjoy taking him to public places because of his behavior, he used to pull leashes. bark at dogs, not listen at all. But all of that changed after his training. He now walks without pulling, comes when is called and respects his role as our dog. Skyler was amazing at keeping us updated about Kody and sending us updates, and after the two weeks he spent a good deal of time helping us ease into our new life with Kody. I can’t recommend Skyler and Good K9 enough!! We’re now able to take Kody to the park and go on walks all without a leash - something I never thought we’d be able to do. We’re able to have dinners outside with Kody at our side without him lunging for other dogs or barking and so much more. The program changed our life with Kody and I recommend this program to anyone thinking about it because it’s the best investment you can make for you and your dog! They also provided us with all the tools needed to continue his training at home and we feel very pleased with Kody’s results. Thank you Skyler and Good K9 Academy!

Are you a millennial and your dog is literally your everything? Have you consulted multiple training companies and none felt just right? This review is for YOU! After reading reviews and consulting 6 different places, Patron recently completed the Day Program (5 days, 7 hours dog and trainer, and 1 hour with trainer, dog, and owner) with David at Good K9 Academy. He’d probably agree I was pessimistic about what Patron could accomplish but was excited for Patron to be in the program. He went over what they would be working on each morning during drop off. He always made sure to allow time for me to ask my millions of questions too. In the afternoon, he shared what Patron learned that day, explained how to give the command, showed me first, asked if I had any questions or needed to see it again, and then had me do the command. And it wasn’t just once. He had me practice until I got it down. He made sure to comment on things I forgot or prompt me to perfect the commands. Each afternoon, Patron exceeded my expectations on what I thought he was capable of learning, and everything we learned we use daily. David also helped build my own confidence throughout the week. I think the biggest benefit of Good K9 Academy is having a trainer that gives the owner the tools and guidance to continue to have a happy and obedient pup after training is over. Training a dog is one thing, but to train a dog and a stubborn, overthinking adult is a skill. I went from having a puppy with absolutely no boundaries, respect for me, zero recall, and a pup that bolts towards anything moving, including dogs and people that don’t appreciate his hello. Today, Patron is free to do what he loves the most- use his nose and sniff everything, yet comes when called. I’m no longer worried about him getting off-leash and bolting and not coming back. I no longer run after him or shout his name to try and get his attention. At home, I no longer get frustrated with him and have to tell him “no” or move him away when I’m cooking, eating, or trying to feed him. He happily places on his cot. I can now take him places where I’m sitting outdoors and not have him yank his leash around or constantly untangle his leash around the table and chairs. My favorite? We can now go on walks without wrist/arm pain because there is no pulling. Best of all, he is still his happy, goofy, playful self. If anything he seems so much happier to have structure in his life. I know I am. Forever thankful to David and Good K9 Academy!

Andrew was great ! He answered all of our questions and took care of my pup as if it was his own. Koda stayed with Andrew for two weeks board and train and was really nervous at first but it didn’t take long for him to get use to Andrew and his two dogs ! We would get pictures and updates about koda daily. My pup would pull every time we took him out on walks and it was tough having company over because he would always lunge at people. We picked Koda up today and wow so many compliments! It seems like he’s a different puppy. He learned very quick and by the time he came home he was off leash around a crowd of people. We are so glad we let Andrew and his team train koda we are excited for the journey that lies ahead. I have more trust in koda now and the two hour training we got from Andrew at the end helped so much especially for my mother since English is not her first language. We will be visiting Andrew and his pups soon! Thanks so much for taking care and teaching koda so much !
