Grand Rapids K9 - Dog Training

Jason was fantastic to work with and very knowledgeable and professional. Our two year old dog, Scout, was hyper and crazy. After the two weeks of boot camp it feels like we have a new dog. He is still friendly and lovable but now also listens and obeys! Walking is no longer a battle. He walks alongside us without tugging and will even stay near off leash. He comes when called despite distractions (including squirrels and other dogs!) and will sit and stay even when we throw treats all around him. It was also invaluable that Jason took the time to train us as well and even had follow up visits to our house to follow-up on any behaviors we needed additional help with when back home. We would highly recommend Jason to anyone needing help with their dog!

Jason is an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced dog trainer. He has taught me so much about dogs — why they behave the way they do, how to read their body language, and how to help them become their best selves. Theo is my first dog, and before training, I didn’t realize I was making some mistakes at home. Thanks to Jason’s guidance, I now feel so much more confident as Theo’s mom. I’m so, so, so happy I took Theo to Grand Rapids K9. He’s improved so much that all my friends and family have noticed! Theo is a very energetic 9-month-old puppy, and before training, he would get so excited that he’d try to jump on the neighborhood kids when they wanted to pet him. Now, he calmly sits without me even having to remind him — it’s amazing! Theo has improved in more ways than one. He now listens to my commands, goes in his crate easily, and walking him on a leash is so much easier and refreshing. He use to tug and pull me everywhere, but now I can walk him with my arms completely relaxed. It’s so nice! Whenever Theo use to see another dog, he would bark and growl at them but now he is much more calm and relaxed. I’m very impressed. Jason has truly made my life so much easier, and I’m beyond grateful for all of his help. Thank you so much Jason!

I can't say enough positive things about Jason and Grand Rapids K9 Dog Training. He evaluated our dogs, our daily life and what we wanted to accomplish with training and he came up with ideas and a plan that would work for us and our two dogs. What happily surprised us the most is for our situation, and what we were wanting to accomplish, he did not automatically go to what was the most costly option that may bring him the most income. He recommended an option that worked best for us and our dogs and was not necessarily the most lucrative for him. You can tell he loves what he does and he will recommend what's best for his clients and not just himself. I highly recommend reaching out to Jason if you are considering any type of training. Let him make the recommendation that is best for you and your dog.

We love Grand Rapids K9! Our dog Hutch is a sweetie but for 8 months we could barely leave our house without him barking at every sight and sound. We did a board and train with Jason and now we are going on daily walks without reactions - a totally different dog! Jason gave us confidence to lead our boy well in a way that not only gave us the results that we wanted, but ended up giving Hutch more freedom! We are super thankful for GR K9 and will 100% be back once we get Hutch a friend!

Jason has helped tremendously with training our rottweiler. We started with an initial one-on-one session that yielded great results. Following that, we utilized his boarding facility for a stay & train session that greatly improved her leash manners. I have been able to utilize Jason as a resource when I needed a refresher on maintaining obedience. I highly recommend Jason for all dogs, but especially high drive, strong dogs!
