Great Salt Lake Dog Training

I am extremely pleased with my experience at Great Sale Lake Training Club. We attended our first class with our rambunctious 7 month samoyed. They provided extremely helpful and applicable advise. They do a great job at helping each individual human and dog with what they specifically need. All of the trainers with which I have had experience were well-versed and had been in the industry for many years. Unfortunately, our puppy had an accident resulting in a broken leg and they were kind enough to give us a raincheck for when she is feeling better. I also truly respect that they are clearly not after your money which I can't say about other dog training facilities I have attended.

We have had a great experience at the Great Salt Lake Training Club. We have taken the puppy class and then moved on to intermediate obedience and gaining our dogs CGC. The classes are large and it takes a lot of work outside of class time to solidify your dogs skills but our puppy has loved taking classes here. We have also learned to be better pet owners and trainers and have learned skills such as nail trimming and dremmeling teeth cleaning and basic puppy etiquette. It has been a great first experience for us at a reasonable price.

WARNING! It is not legally required for dog trainers in Utah to have a dog training liscense and these people obviously do not. Yes it is cheap but it is also cheaper to go on YouTube like they obviously do. It is there way or the highway. I've trained dogs with professional trainers before and they teach the concept and they let you do whatever works for you and your dog this place does not. I would suggest calling around to other to other trainers.

Great Salt Lake Dog Training Club continues to let Dorothy Hart viciously attack people when minor situations could be resolved with training the human instead of treating the human with vile, hate and disgust. If Dorthy Hart is so "sick of telling people what to do" then maybe she shouldn't be a part of training dogs and people because that is exactly the definition of training. Allowing Dorothy Hart's behavior to continue unchecked is like letting an abused dog attack people. This club is inconsistent in the messages given. Do as I say, but not as I do. When you see leaders allowing their dogs to walk around without a leash, you get the impression it's okay. When the week before you threw the ball to your dog for an hour and no one comes up and asks you not to do this, this is inconsistent. When certain training is done without leashes, it seems a little hypocritical,l when throwing a ball to your dog and getting reprimanded. When other people are throwing balls to their dog, it seems this behavior is okay and then Dorothy Hart yells and screams at people that it iisn't. All Leaders within this club should be on the same page, saying and holding people and their dogs so the same standards. 1. Leashes on dogs at all times. 2. Leashes need to be held by the owner unless training requires the leash to be removed and then immediately the leash needs to be placed back on the dog and held at all times. MAKE A SIGN. These seem like pretty simple directions to provide. If trainers don't have the ability to have a short professional conversation with the owners of the dogs about leashes, they should not be training. As a non profit organization you are still providing a service. Treating people horribly is not going to win you friends. Sending leaders over ready to fight isn't going to calm me down after my spouse was ripped apart not once but twice by Dorothy Hart when it could have been so much easier to pull Raylynn Marvel-Carter to the side and explain the rule and why the rules are in place. Allowing people in your organization having a reputation of being rude and unprofessional is not acceptable and then protecting this behavior is ridiculous. Linda McLelland came at me ready to fight. Let me tell you, if you hurt someone I love, I will fight. This organization has a pack mentality and if the owner/dog isn't following all the rules then the pack ignores and shames them for fear of it happening to them next. This doesn't make for a good training environment, unless this is the way you want it to be. If that is the case, keep allowing Dorothy Hart to attack people.
