From the very first phone consultation, we immediately knew Jillian was the perfect trainer for our German Shepherd puppy! She spent so much time truly listening to all of our wants/goals and discussed how the board and train program would best fit our needs, and even gave us helpful training tips to put into place immediately that helped with the puppy phase before we met! Over the course of several months, we have watched our energetic puppy turn into an obedient dog that we can take out in public, returns when called off leash, plays well with our kids and other animals, and many other skills in such a short period of time… and she is not even a year old yet! Jillian has spent so much time and gone above and beyond to ensure life with our new puppy would be fun and an easy transition! I cannot say enough great things about Jillian. She did such an amazing job with our dog Kylee. Kylee just turned two this month and is amazingly obedient, walks on a loose leash and knows to stay on place, greets visitors politely and behave in public. Kylee had some quirks and needed to be trained differently than most dogs…not to mention the struggle of training a puppy that is stubborn and almost 2 years old with bad habits…Jillian identified this all right away and used a different approach to teach Kylee how to be an amazing pup. Kylee now frequents restaurants and public places (that permit dogs of course) and is always on her best behavior. Jillian’s love of dogs and care for our baby girl and our family needs was unbelievable. She isn’t just an outstanding trainer, she is also an amazing human being. I genuinely have no words to how amazing Jillian at Gulf Coast K9 is. She helped me with my 6 year old Shiba Inu, Henry in proper socialization, reactivity, and just being an all around gentleman. If you know Shibas, they’re no easy feat. But Jillian helped him in all ways she could and taught me the necessary steps to continue his gentlemanly behavior. Dog training is an ON GOING experience and when you learn from the best (like Jillian) you get the best! Not only is she well versed in dog training, but she taught me SO much in regards to dog nutrition, dog psychology, and understanding my dogs body language.
