I adopted Nellie, a mini American shepherd, at the age of 1.5 - she had been recently removed from a home where she was physically abused. She was extremely fearful and reactive, often falling over and peeing when approached or asked to do something. She would not approach strangers, was very scared of men, and would bark at any small movements or noises inside and outside of our house. Every car, every person walking by, every cat, constant barking. She jumped up on everyone despite my attempts to curb that behavior. I was at my wit's end. She spent 2 weeks with Cody doing kennel and train, followed by 4 full day sessions. She is still full of energy (which we love!) but Cody did an excellent job of channeling her energy and teaching her to communicate. She listens SO well now! She is still hesitant with strangers ( that's typical of her breed) but she will now approach and greet new people with more confidence. Cody tailored Nellie's training to her specific needs and knew how to push her in just the right ways. He also provided some great activities/games for us to do around the house which has been a great addition to our daily routine. What I really appreciate about Cody's training system is that YOU are also being trained. He has developed an excellent foundation for learning through a series of succinct videos on a phone-based app where he explains dog psychology, his training techniques, and helpful tips for common problems. This program lays the foundation for you and your dog to grow together, and we couldn't be happier with the amazing progress she has made over the last few months. Another aspect of the program I like is that Cody is very active on the app and posts helpful videos, answers questions, and is overall very involved with all the previous dogs and people he's trained. He will continue to be a great resource for us as we continue our dog training journey!
