About Guter Hund K9 Training
We are a family owned business serving New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. We offer quality K9 training at an affordable price. Lessons are conducted in-home and/or at pet-friendly locations around town, depending on your goals and where your dog is at in the training process. We work with all breeds and training can begin as early as 12 weeks old. Training techniques include both operant and classical conditioning techniques, putting the emphasis on teaching and rewarding, not punishment. We had a great experience with the Trainer, David at Gunter Hund K-9 . After adopting, Atreo, a year old Husky, who came with some very bad habits and behaviorial issues we knew we needed professional help. We searched for a good trainer that came highly recommended by previous client's...All paths kept leading us to David and Gunter Hund Training. The reviews were spot on! After two private sessions we were given a thumbs up from David and we graduated! David suggested we attend a group class and go from there. We are making some really great progress, not perfection yet, but definitely making progress. David is very helpful, and tailored the training to our specific needs. We fully intend on going all the way with the classes and hope to keep David around as part of our forever journey with our sweet boy, Atreo!!! Thank you, David!! ❤️
David was extremely knowledgeable, professional and patient! We did the Crash Course and we’re very encouraged by our dog’s response to his methods after just the one hour class. We already signed up for the Advanced Group Classes and look forward to working with David moving forward!

Oh man David is awesome! We adopted a 1 year old yellow lab mix, Buddy, from the humane society and he is a bundle of energy. We were able to start lessons almost immediately and saw improvements after the first one. David is extremely knowledgeable and has helped my husband and I tremendously with Buddy. We completed 3 at home lessons, working on the basic commands, door greeting, leash training, and jumping/play biting. The improvement has been great! We also plan on doing group classes to work on distractions and interacting with others. Looking online I saw some other dog trainers in my area but not a single one had the reviews that Guter Hund does and the prices can’t compare either. I highly recommend Guter Hund for any dog training you may need!

I have a six month old puppy (juniper) and we did private lessons with David. He was tremendously helpful in teaching me how to walk with June on a leash. Me and juniper are much happier girls now that we can enjoy exercising together even around distractions. David also was helpful with Junipers jumping during door greetings at home and her general manners when meeting friends. I now feel confident that I have to tools to help juniper grow up and be a nice well mannered dog eventhough we are working on being distracted. Also you can tell the guy really just cares about dogs 😊
