H.O.P. E. Dog Training

Im very disappointed by HOPE and I deeply regret spending $2k+ to send my dog here. I signed my dog up for 2 weeks of obedience training (2 weeks overnight was HOPE’s recommendation) and I stressed to them that my priority was potty training, which is included with their obedience training. It has been almost a week since boarding school, and I have observed NO improvement in my dog’s potty training or recall. Most of the daily updates I received were reinforcing what I had already previously taught my dog (sit, down, come, stay). My dog did learn a bit of heel and place, but for an entire 2 weeks of training and $2k+ spent, I expect better results than two half-learned tricks that I still have to finish teaching myself. Objectively speaking, dog training resulted in me having MORE work afterwards compared to before dog training. Also, HOPE does not clean the crust in your dog’s eyes, and allows it to freely build up. I cannot recommend HOPE.

I brought my Goldendoodle there, maybe about Two months ago For a board training for 2,220 dollars over night program. To address certain behaviors and socialization around other dogs in the time being there I receive video updates, but with that being said, I got my dog back after he was in the program for two weeks he came back sick. Had to spend additional money on the vet and overall he became the same exact way he was before I sent him there. They didn’t work on anything worth $2200. I would not recommend anybody to this place. The biggest mistake of my life I ever made was sending my dog to this place before you send your dog here. Please think about it and find somewhere else. All they care about is the money they don’t care about anything else.

I was very disappointed with our experience at Hope Dog Care. When we first arrived, we were told there would be a 15-minute behavior assessment for my dog, but it lasted less than 5 minutes and felt rushed. I later scheduled a pack walk and socialization day for my dog. We dropped him off around 8:30 AM and picked him up around 5:00 PM. When my boyfriend went to pick him up, the staff provided minimal feedback, only saying that “he did good.” There was no detailed explanation about how his day went, how many walks he received, or how he interacted with other dogs. The staff mentioned that he was kept in his crate for a bit and that he was circling around in the crate, which is typically a sign that a dog needs to use the restroom. This raised concerns for me. Based on his behavior after pickup, it felt like he may have spent most of the day in the crate rather than being actively engaged. When we got home, he immediately urinated outside for an unusually long time and was extremely thirsty, suggesting he may not have had adequate water or bathroom breaks. He was also very hyper, to the point that we had to take him on another walk just to help him calm down. This does not align with being told that dogs are walked three times per day. Additionally, the training attendant did not provide meaningful details, insight, or communication about my dog’s behavior or care throughout the day. Clear communication is extremely important when entrusting someone with a pet. Due to the lack of transparency, limited engagement, and overall experience, I will not be bringing my dog back to Hope Dog Care.
