Hands and Paws Canine Training

Im very happy with experience so far with hands and Paws canine training Makayla has been very good with communication even with me living abroad. she’s been very understanding and training with her has been a very pleasant experience. The one-to-one video calls are great and being able to have pointers and direction on how I’m training Thunder and what I am doing how to correct when im doing something wrong is going to very helpful. I would definitely recommend hands and paws canine training for both general dog training and service dog training. I will post an update or second review later when we have completed training to give more detail about the experience and the outcome of training with them. :)

My name is Nicole and I’m a client of Makayla at Hands and Paws Canine Training. I found Makayla through Facebook and took interest in her services about a year ago. I reached out to inquire about her service dog programs and Makayla has been exceptional from the start. She has been receptive towards my goals, which are to have a functional multi-dog household. My current dogs are Isa and Quincy, Makayla is giving us lessons so they are prepared for the puppy to enter our home. Isa is working on building confidence and Quincy is working on motivation. Makayla has been helping me learn how to communicate effectively with my dogs. In only two lessons, Isa is going into a crate and Quincy is maintaining eye contact throughout training. My confidence has boosted and I’ve been able to give the dogs clear and concise commands. Makayla has given me tools, resources, and advice on every problem I’ve encountered. I would say she’s gone above and beyond to get my dogs where I want them. She has kept me in the loop with the progress of my puppy and answered every question I’ve had. She is a wonderful trainer, I can’t wait to continue my journey with her!

Added new charges after contract signed. Did not feed dog properly and over used the shock collar which she had not been given the okay to use. Dog was picked up early and was underweight from not being fed properly. Currently has to be under Vet's care to monitor weight gain. And in retaliation for removing dog from program and sharing experience on social media, Mikayla called Animal Control to request a welfare check and reported dog was being overfed and was sleeping on wrong kind of bed and training dog to be submissive. How Makayla can claim to love dogs and be a certified trainer is beyond me. Anyone can withhold food and shock a dog into obedience. And to claim to be a business...a business woman while retaliating by calling Animal Control on her former clients is juvenile and childish. Please be careful before turning your beloved pet over to her.
