Happy Dog Basic Obedience

We took the basic obedience course with our two young dogs and in only five lessons, we saw a major change in our former troublemaker dog. Dawn found out from the start that he does better in a harness than a leash, and that changed his personality right off the bat. We worked on exactly what we needed to: heel, leave it, barking at the door, wait, stay, and overcoming fear. Our other dog is quite timid so we learned techniques to help her with her confidence. It was so convenient for us to meet at the park by our house, and in our home - no need to take them anywhere! The little one doesn’t like car rides anyway. We will continue to perfect these commands that we’ve learned, and look forward to working with Dawn in the future.

Happy Dog Basic Obedience has turned around my relationship with my dog. I started having training lessons with Dawn when my Rottweiler, Bosco, was about fourteen months old. I have never ever lived with, let alone, owned a dog before in my life and I was determined to have a well-behaved large dog. However, I was lost as to how to train him. Dawn is an expert on training dogs! Her calm and assertive attitude was exactly what I needed. She knew when to tell me the mistakes I was making, while also building up my confidence and telling me when I was doing a good job. She was always punctual, her methods always worked, and she had a warmth to her that was undeniable. After completing the basic dog obedience training, I went on to have Bosco certified for the canine good citizen test with her. I can't recommend Happy Dog Basic Obedience, and Dawn enough! I always tell her that she trained me how to train my dog - and now I have a peaceful and deep connection with Bosco.
