I cannot recommend John and his team enough for their exceptional dog training services. Their deep knowledge of canine behavior, combined with years of experience, made a world of difference in our chihuahua mix Chico’s development. John’s approach is both thoughtful and highly effective, taking the time to understand Chico’s unique needs and quirks, but also the behaviors that required adjusting and why. Chico was exhibiting anxious behaviors both inside and outside the home, resulting in accidents in the house, separation anxiety, stranger danger and biting habits, leash pulling, and more. John and team helped him grasp basic commands, learn how to properly walk on leash with the guidance of his owners, adapt to a feeding and bathroom schedule, and more. During his time at training, he was weened off his Prozac. Following our four week program, John had welcomed us back with Chico for follow up training sessions so we can reinforce what he’s learned and improve his learnings and behaviors so they stick. We have learned almost as much as Chico in the process. What stands out most about the team is their patience, dedication, and love for dogs. It's clear that they truly care about building a strong, positive relationship between dogs and their owners - one of understanding but also that is routine and regimented. The team’s craft and skill are unmatched—they were able to break down complex behavioral issues into manageable steps and teach us how to reinforce good habits consistently. Thanks to their guidance, Chico is not only a better listener but also seems more confident. If you're looking for trainers who combine expertise with kindness, this is the team for you!

We entrusted our five and a half month old working line GSD, Loki to John for a four week board and train for basic obedience. From time to time we received videos of his training. He looked like one happy pup! The dog is more responsive to commands and now walks on a loose leash. The dog came home and was even more playful than before, no more puppy bites. He was always a good puppy, but the training has even improved his personality. We are beyond thrilled with this training.

We could not be more satisfied with the training that Mabel received at Happy Dogs Training! John and his staff were extremely knowledgeable, passionate and professional trainers. We tried many trainers before meeting John, but Mabel was still difficult. John and his staff worked to transform her behavior. John has been extremely patient and kind as he helped us to understand how to continue to work with Mabel at home. He also makes himself available when we have any questions. We couldn’t be happier! We are sincerely thankful to John and his team!
