Harvey & Co Dog Training

The training Beth provided to our rescue dog Rocky was truly life changing! Rocky is a pit mix we got from the humane society and while gentle & loving with our immediate family, she showed extreme aggression towards strangers, especially inside our house. With Beth’s guidance we were able to work with our vet to find some anxiety medication and training that has given us a dog most of our friends say “I can’t believe this is the same dog!” The patience, kindness and determination Beth showed while training us & Rocky was inspiring and gave us the confidence we needed to get here. I strongly give Beth/ Harvey & Co a 5 star rating!!!

Beth is the best! She helped me tremendously after a serious fight broke out between my 2 dogs. With Beth’s deep knowledge, compassion, and a calm, confident approach I was able to always come to her for help and follow her steps to get my dogs to coexist again. We have a 7-year-old reactive cattle dog, and we have always been able to control his environment to avoid triggers and keep him comfortable…until we had a baby and that baby started crawling. Not being careful enough, our daughter got in his space, which resulted in him scratching her across the face and landing her in the ER. This put us in a position to make a very tough decision. How do we keep them both safe? We owed it to our dog to do everything we could, when everyone else around us was telling us to rehome him. He is our baby too. So we called Beth. Full of emotions and not knowing what to expect, Beth came to our home that weekend, and got to know our dog, our family, our environment, and carefully crafted a plan. We began working on three main goals - changing our dog’s emotional response to an unpredictable baby, how we can separate the two to keep them BOTH safe, and training him (and us!) with obedience skills to maintain control. Over the next few months, meeting with Beth weekly, we noticed a shift in our dog and in our family dynamic. She equipped us with the tools we needed to set him up for success and we trusted the process. She is always willing to take a call or text with questions as we work with him at home - even late at night. We put in the work, and it’s paying off. We feel safe again. He feels safe again. He hates strangers but gets excited to see Beth, because he actually enjoys the challenge of learning new skills, so we are continuing training even after fixing the initial reason we called her. And with a now walking toddler who will continue to change and grow, we will need to ensure he is also prepared for the changes as well. We noticed his quality of life significant improve because of her. When I say she saved our family, I am not exaggerating. She helped us during one of the hardest times of our lives, gave us hope and direction. We cannot thank her enough for what she’s done for our family, and I HIGHLY recommend her if you are also struggling with a reactive dog. There’s hope, and you can make it work.
