I’m so glad I chose HD Dog Training. I adopted Indigo, a sweet adult Shepherd mix, a little over two years ago, and in that time, I have tried out a couple other training services before this one. None of them had been able to help me correct Indigo’s more frustrating habits: pulling during walks, being overreactive toward other dogs on the street, kicking after doing his business, and just generally not listening to me in public spaces. Rob at HD Dog Training took care of all of that—and more. Rob really cares about these doggos, so he shows tremendous patience and understanding with the dog (and the client)! Rob clearly knows what he’s doing: Within weeks, Indigo was already staying more focused during our walks. And now with our sessions completed, Indigo no longer pulls, he doesn’t overreact, and he doesn’t kick. He listens to me much more readily, and he even stays still and sits patiently at streetlights. To give just one example, it took only one lesson to crate-train Indigo, an eight-year-old dog, who, following just that one lesson, now randomly goes into his crate throughout the day and just stays in there lying down. On a more personal note, Rob also extended incredible generosity and kindness to me. Halfway through our training sessions, Indigo and I went on a hike, during which he suffered a pretty bad leg injury (an ACL tear). Putting our sessions on hold, Rob heavily publicized my GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Indigo’s treatment, which was remarkably helpful. And he gave us plenty of time to get Indigo recovered before restarting our sessions. In short, HD Dog Training gave my dog and me the tailored training we needed. Highly recommend!

We are so thankful to have found Rob and HD Dog Training. Rob completely transformed the behavior of our puppy pomsky, Bandit. Bandit had a lot of separation anxiety, was overly friendly and reactive with other dogs, was a leash puller, and would jump up on strangers. We tried another trainer whose approach did not work for Bandit. Rob completely understood Bandit's breed and the training approach that would work best for him. In just two sessions, he was heeling on walks, stopped howling in his crate, and behaved remarkably better with other dogs. If you have a puppy (or any dog for that matter) and it feels like none of your training is working, call Rob right away. You will be so glad you did as he truly changed the qualify of our and Bandit's lives.

We are so thankful for HD Dog Training! My husband and I adopted a pocket pit bull terrier mix, Xena, a few months and realized we were in over our heads. She was a sweetie but frequently had accidents in house, pulled a lot on her walks, and was scared to walk up our stairs in our Philly row home. The first day Rob came he got Xena to go up the stairs and she has been running up and down ever since. Xena now walks with us, sits at street corners, and we have the tools to control her and keep her safe! Rob held us accountable and trained us to be much better dog parents. Thank you! Hands down the best investment I’ve ever made for my dog and our family. Our 5 year old American bulldog/Pitbull mix, Molly, had been through some trauma over the years that has led to dog/leash aggression, anxiety, and we generally just didn’t have enough control over her. After just 8 weeks with Rob, Molly is a different dog. She is less anxious, listens and knows her commands, and can actually go outside on a walk. Rob gave us the tools and confidence we needed to be able to properly handle and control Molly to give her the life she deserves. There’s a reason he was voted the best dog trainer in Philly, because he really is. He not only takes the time to train your dog based on their individual needs and styles but also holds you, the owner, responsible for following through with the training. Rob is the best of the best and I know we will continue to use the tools and skills he taught us for years to come as we continue to work to make Molly the best version of herself.
