Heart Mountain K9

The team at Heart Mountain K9 is outstanding. Their training methods are both effective and fair, using a relationship and motivation based system that makes dogs love to learn and "game the system," creating results that last. They show exceptional care and attention to every dog they work with, and work hard to communicate progress and updates to owners. I’ve worked with them personally and have sent dogs to them, and I couldn’t be happier with the professionalism, skill, and dedication they bring to their work and regularly recommend them for pet and working dog training alike.

I was not allowed to see the kennels where my dogs would be staying was the first red flag. The website states that pickup times are from 4:00-6:00 I arrived at 3:50 and there wasn’t anyone there. No problem I was early. Other people were trying to drop off their dog and they were also concerned because the website does state that pickup times and drop off times are between 4:00-6:00. I called the primary phone number several times and left messages to call me. The secondary phones mailbox was full. As time went on I became more and more concerned so I walked back to a small shed in the back and looked through the window. I could see my 130# dog in a very small area. The entire shed wasn’t as big as the one kennel I reserved let alone the combination of the 2 kennels I reserved. The owner and his employee showed up at 5:00 he wouldn’t let me go back and help get my dogs, he threatened to call the police if I didn’t get in my vehicle. There are no signs stating “employees only” or to remain in your vehicle. There are no signs at all. He threatened to take my dogs to the pound. He told me my dogs peed all over their beds. I have left my dogs inside my house for 9 hours and they don’t have any accidents so I don’t know how long they were leaving them locked up in those small areas. When my dogs got home they couldn’t get enough water and I noticed that there wasn’t very much food missing from the bag of dog food I left with them. They told me that my dogs would get 3 cups of food each in the morning between 7:00 - 8:00am then again between 4:00-5:00 in the late afternoon. That obviously didn’t happen because I was there and they weren’t. My dogs had to have baths right away because they smelled horrible it was a musty almost moldy smell. I don’t expect anyone to treat my dogs like I do (Spoiled rotten) but I do expect better treatment for them than what they received at Heart Mountain K9
